The Sims 3 is an era of 'The Sims' that people tend to look back on with rose-tinted glasses. I would still consider that game to be a certified banger, regardless of its bugs and glitches. However, the Wii port is.... let's just say, all the problems that the Sims 3 had on PC, amplify those x100. They made some interesting decisions when creating this port in 2010: does it still hold up today?

i'll never forget bringing this home from gamestop after saving up my money, just to watch my entire town die and turn into ghosts LOL
  • One time when I was playing this game my sim got pregnant but before she could deliver the baby she aged up into an elder and got stuck in pregnancy purgatory and would not die or give birth

As time goes by, the townies die and you end up having the town full of tombstones. At ground level you can collect them, but those in the water stay there forever. Additionally, the game generates new ones, but never takes into account the number of empty houses, so there will be entire families living in community lots. I remember that one of my sims child became friends with a little girl, and wanting to see where she lived and search through the houses, I had to use the friendship filter in the map search engine. She lived in the gym, along with other sims who didn't have the same last name.

She’s finally covering my first ever sims game ❤❤ I loved it but even as a kid I knew it was limited af compared to the computer version. It blew my mind when I was finally able to get the sims 3 on pc
  • Omg everyone died where they landed in this game and I HAD to stop playing because of how creepy it got. It made my skin crawl. Gravestones everywhere literally. Especially around the restaurant patio.

You can only play for 6 weeks before your game completely glitches out and you have to restart

i got this as a present when i got the wii but i had already played sims 3 on pc at that point, so boy my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined

Doris catching flame and passing away right in front of you then watching Tom, who you're flirting with, become an old man before your very eyes is so funny. This game is a gem

The glitch at 25:33 was so annoying and unavoidable that the multiple cars not properly unloading in a save file could straight up cause corruption. I would lose so many save files to corruption when I played this on the Wii, and it took me looking through forums online to realize that the problem arises with Sims 3 on Wii never clearing its own gameplay cache when you play. What NPC cars are supposed to do is unload when they leave town through the tunnels, but they just...don't. They just pile more and more textures/car engine sound effects until your file inevitability corrupts itself when loading the save from the main menu. Oh, and apparently, the developers never coded the NPC's to replenish their needs like the sims are supposed to do. That's why there's always so many graves in the streets; they typically die of starvation. Sometimes old age...but mostly starvation. 😅

That embarrassing moment when Sims 3 for the Wii has more drama then sims 4

I could not wait for you to do this video! The Sim 3 on the Wii was my first ever Sims game and it absolutely TRAUMATIZED ME. I completely abandoned the game after out of nowhere, everywhere I went with my sim, there was gravestones left and right 😭😭 ten year old little me tried to put every gravestone in the cemetery but once I got to beach there were so many just lined up against each other I got overwhelmed and never looked back.

I remwber that in this game if you had a baby you dont get told the gender when naming the baby so I had this buff manly man sim named Flora
  • The fact that The Sims 3 on Wii is fully open world while Xbox 360 and PS3 Sims only allows you to explore a small chunk, and you have to select an arrow at the end of the road to go to the next area, which loads for a bit of time

My older sister had the sims 3 for the Wii. When we where younger we constantly played it and I remember one thing abt it still haunts me to this day. One of the premade houses you have to choose from is built so the sims can't reach the toilet. Everytime when we would have them go to the bathroom they said:'Oh bibilay'. It's a 'sentence' that is forever burnt in my memory.

I remember the build and buy was so bad in this game if the "Free Space" got full you could delete all the furniture and appliances and the free space would still be full and would never go down no matter what you do 😭

I WAS SO EXCITED TO GET THIS GAME AS A KID. Looking back on it, I'm amazed at how happy I was with it at the time given how buggy it is. I remember seeing the SAME townie dying on multiple saves in the same spot simply because they wouldn't stop skateboarding to get food. It was wild. That glitch where food would clip under your counters and rot was pretty annoying too. Fond memories overall, though.

I actually like how the sims 3 sims look & dress (very early aughts nostalgia) but my GOD...these versions of them are like clay dolls brought to life

The clothes aren't ugly, they're just 2009 fashion.
