To be fair to Gears of War, the reason why the characters slow down for dialogue scenes is so the game can load the next area, it's not purely for narrative. Most AAA developers misunderstood this and now we have slow walking gameplay segments where characters will rattle off exposition in our AAA games.

I love the fact that almost all the clips of Jakey's BOTW gameplay features Link sniping enemies with a bow while wearing the Sheikah set. All roads lead to stealth archer.

The ai in the game were so intelligent that they contradicted the small brain message of the story. They’d beg for their life if they were wounded then shot you as soon as they got a chance.

Man, that "only one outcome" where Abby and Ellie fight and Abby dying is a Game Over got to me. I really wanted to just let Ellie win that situation but it wouldn't let it happen.

I can’t find who said it for the life of me, but someone said that the game clicked when they saw Abby on that post at the end of the game because they thought she was already dead. Someone else had gotten to her before Ellie could. Yeah she’s dead, but ELLIE wanted to kill her. A hollow feeling starts as the cycle of violence was all for nothi- Oh motherfucker she’s still alive?
