If you’re in the market for a large, premium & German SUV, which should you choose - the Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, Mercedes GLE, Audi Q7 or Volkswagen Touareg?

Well, we’ve pulled all five together, and Mat’s going to compare all five against each other to see which is the best buy in 2024!

So let’s see how the five compare regarding performance & price. Starting with the Porsche, the edition we have here is the Cayenne e-hybrid. It’s powered by a 3-litre turbo V6 coupled with an electric motor, and this can deliver 470hp and 650Nm of torque. The range starts at £76,000, but the car we have here costs around £102,000.

The VW Touareg also houses the same engine and motor. However, it’s down on power compared to the Porsche, producing 462hp and 700Nm. The range starts at £69,000, but this edition costs £89,000.

The next most powerful car here is the Mercedes GLE. It’s powered by a 3-litre straight-six turbo diesel as well as an electric motor. These combine to put down 389hp and 750Nm of torque. The GLE range costs from around £77,000, while the car we have here costs around £92,000.

Next up is the all-new BMW X5. It’s hiding a 3-litre straight-six turbo diesel under the bonnet, and this puts down 298hp and 670Nm. The entry-level X5 costs from £70,600, but the car we have here is the second most expensive of the five, costing around £94,000.

Then finally we have the Audi Q7. This edition comes with a 3-litre V6 turbo diesel under the bonnet, and this puts down 286hp and 600Nm. The entry-level Q7 is the cheapest car of the five here, costing around £65,000, while the car we have here costs £87,000.

But which of the five is the best car for you? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!

Audi engine and drivetrain, exactly the same since 2017 down to numbers. But when it comes to the door close thud sound, 6 years later I still can’t get enough of it. So satisfying

Is it me, or is the price of these type of cars getting a bit stupid?

Why didn't you test these expensive shopping trolleys for how much shopping you can fit in after you drop the kids off at school? That is their intended purpose afterall.
  • Lmao bro said "have they made them from scrotum😂😂😂😂""

The prices of new cars in relation to average income have reached a 50-year high…it’s f**ing insane. Even I as a German wouldn’t be willing to spend almost 90.000€ on a basic-configuration German sports SUV

The fact that, despite all the greatness of the Audi Q7, the Mercedes still wins over it just because of the "I want it" factor is ridiculous.

90k for a toureg is beyond wild, i dont even see 50k euro in a toureg.

These new car prices are getting ridiculous, just wait 3 years and it'll be half the price.
