This is the steepest trail in the Adirondacks. It's also a favorite!
An incredibly fun and rugged climb!

    The red on the rocks is from oxygenation of iron. Or, it may be from algae, though that is usually a purple color.

    I did this hike when I was 12 and I’m wanting to do it with my kids soon. Can you tell me info about where you camped? Or was this a day hike?
