Potential tropical cyclone five forms, expected to turn out and go north

The National Hurricane Center has issued its first advisory for Potential Tropical Cyclone Five, currently located over the central tropical Atlantic.

Formerly known as Invest 98-L, the disturbance is showing better signs of organization and could soon become a named tropical storm. Ernesto is the next name on the list.

A Potential Tropical Cyclone allows the National Hurricane Center to begin routine advisories on a system that has not yet developed into a tropical depression or named tropical storm but is expected to bring the threat of tropical force winds to land within 48 hours.
