Doffy and Luffy both embody opposite ideals. One desired absolute control, the other, absolute freedom. Luffy shouting out his feelings was a great speech.

They actually made this attack way weaker than it was in the source material. In reality Luffy used King-Kong-gun -> Doffy used spiderweb and godthread -> Luffy smashed through godthread/spiderweb and Doffy within an instant -> Battle over. In the anime they made it seem like Luffy struggled lol.

So the anime had to pad the episode out so they had the back and forth between Luffy and Doflamingo but in the manga he busted through the string net right away

Fun fact: In the manga there was no power struggle on the final attack between Doffy and Luffy. Luffy crushed him instantly with King Kong Gun.
