Alright, so the Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 gave us the best villain in the MCU after Thanos!
That's right, in my opinion The High Evolutionary is already a better villain than Kang the Conqueror.
And in this video, I'm gonna give you 5 detailed points explaining why High Evolutionary is a better villain than Kang!
The idea is not only to convince you, my audience but to reach out to the Marvel executives who could learn a lot from Guardians 3.
James Gunn has really shown his incredible writing skills by turning this lesser-known comic-book villain into one of the most terrifying characters in the MCU!

Sometimes I wish the MCU had villains that stayed longer instead of just being defeated in the end of a certain movie

Gunn knows how to tell a story. When Guardians of the Galaxy came out, they were unknown characters. After watching the third installment, I absolutely love the guardians. Look at the Peacemaker series. Gunn took a very obscure character and built a great story around him.

Yeah I totally agree. It’s a shame they wasted Gorr and Kang with poor development. I was hooked hating High Evolutionary
  • @ishaanagrawal2763
High evolutionary was definitely up there with the best MCU villains.

I was not even terrified by Kang at all. In the movie, he just tries to run away while High evolutionary didn't even think to run when he knew he is slowly losing
  • The writers took the 'trapped with a crazy, drunk, abusive and religious figure' and subtly wrote it into the High Evolutionary's character. This is the reason the character was easy to hate and terrifying. Most viewers had an uneasy feeling about the character because those subtle dark innuendos are common real-life evil person traits some of which were shown on screen. It was clever writing that created a compelling villain. Kang, however, is a more complex character to write about because he is not inherently evil but rather a person that knows the end, therefore his evil actions in between are a means to an end and do not matter in the grand scheme of things to him. The writers of Ant-Man struggled to balance that side of Kang's character arc and ended up creating a generic Marvel villain. He Who Remains on the other hand is exactly how Kang is supposed to be written, a nonchalant person who cares less about what evil he inflicts on those around him, radiating subtle innuendos associated with serial killers or physcopaths. That is a relatable villian that is easy to hate by the viewers.

We were told to hate Kang. We were shown why we need to hate high evolutionary. Edit:Never got so many likes :)
  • If the High Evolutionary is confirmed to be a Kang variant, I’m sure Chukwudi Iwuji would be perfect for it. The High Evolutionary is not only better than Kang, but he also could be a variant of Kang. Who knows, maybe we might see him again.

I was already a fan of Gunn, but GOTG3 had made me fall in love with his work even more. I'm not much of a DCU fan, but I'm excited to see what Gunn brings to the table
  • @gensteps923
High evolutionary was amazing the actor who played him absolutely killed it, the whole movie I kept thinking exactly this that this guy is everything Kang should have been. He wasn't perfect but he was much better handled and portrayed
  • @dukenguyen3424
Just saw the movie today and I can definitely say that High Evolutionary is one scary individual. Thought Warlock was going to be the villain in this movie, boi was I wrong.
  • @eldritchbeluga9277
I don't know why but the high eveloutionary really made my blood boil, maybe it was how the movie made us attached to all those cute names just so he could kill them, or have us like the people on the earth like planet just to wipe them out.
  • @rudy398
Aftar a long time Marvel dropped a movie that’s actually feels like old Marvel ❤ Thanks James gunn❤
  • @hexagonshorts2186
For me the moment Thanos wiped the floor with Hulk, I knew that this was not your average MCU movie.
  • @JudikJ7
I have the same feeling. High Evolutionary's cruelty was clear. The Kang in AntMan3 lacked depth, I was constantly waiting for him to do something major
  • @JacksonLane02
I feel like with the whole delays and stuff that Kang will be written better than he was in QuantumMania and be more brilliant and dangerous like High Evolutionary considering James Gunn apparently wrote Guardians 3's script not long after Guardians 2 came out while Jeff Loveness writer for QuantumMania had a couple months at most. I feel like Guardians 3 and the delays will have the MCU learn some stuff like not being afraid to go dark and sad
  • @cheezyfish
They should really make high evo a Kang variant and have him come back in an insanely powerful way. I'm not very worried or excited to see what happens with Kang outside of Loki S2.
  • @RecappedMoviesUS
Actually looking forward to seeing James Gunn DCEU. I don't think he can make it work the way he writes movies but it will be an interesting take indeed. Also GOTG 3 was really good
