I am french and I can tell you that the first time I had onion soup (it was in the most traditional way possible) I couldn’t get enough and kept on getting refills until there was nothing else. I’ve never had it since then lmao

I"m french so onion soup is one of my favorite.... for a good one, let brown onions (alot of) with butter and a spoon of flour, a pinch of chopped garlic and thyme, deglaze with white wine (optionnal), add beef broth, let seemer for 30 minutes.... put in a small bowl, place 2 pieces of grilled baguette, some grated cheese on top, get to grill top oven.... enjoy!!! one of the most easy and delicious French recipe.... we uselly doing it after a long party night with friends!! .... 😜😉

My family is from the American south (Oklahoma) and I grew up eating Okra in soup! When we make vegetable soup we add all kinds of fresh things, it's wonderful. Okra is pretty good in soup :)

It is fascinating how they immediately recognise it as a winter soup. The first time I ever tried French Onion Soup was when my father got a job in Paris as a diplomat and worked there for 3 years. FOS was one of the things that wowed him and it was one of the first things he made me try when I went to visit him.
