Just wanted to add a little side note- I'm 1000% grateful for the health care system we have here in Australia, as I mentioned this is my first time experiencing this (was so different with Hazel) so I was definitely shocked! I'm definitely aware of how good we have it, and how hard it is for others in different countries that have no choice but to pay! ALSOOOOOOOO since filming, things have changed DRASTICALLY yet again! So stay tuned for the next pregnancy update!

I went private with my 1st here in Melbourne and everything cost us about $10,000 out of pocket. I went public with my 2nd because I was high risk so I got extra care and I had a better experience with public.

Sending you tons of love and glad the finances are 'sorted' ... I'm from England, we are SO lucky, I can't even imagine the stress that people go through when they are faced with horrific bills after a bout of illness. Also, please share how things are going with your spiritual journey, I'm a Reiki practitioner and it changed my life in so many fantastic ways xxx

Your parenting style/skills - I wish I could bottle them and use in my job helping parents with issues like attachment. I can hear that Hazelbug is going through those terrible toddler years where she’s learning about her own feelings and emotions, wanting independence, but at the same time needing mums closeness and support. I can tell you now - Hazel will grow up to be a resilient, loving and well adjusted adult. You are a fantastic mum, and I love seeing you just Be You.
  • Glad you and bubs are doing well, bless Hazel hope she is feeling more herself soon. Love the mystic side of life. Look forward to seeing this content. Xx

I had both of my boys (23months apart) though public, c-section for both and it cost us nothing. With my 1st I was in hospital for 5days and with my 2nd it was 3days as I just wanted to go home. Both times I had my own private room, just had the share a bathroom with the room next door. I agree with you, I am so grateful for our health care system, Id hate to live in the US with how shit theirs is.

Far out thats so much money!!! Ive actually gone public with both mine and going public again this time. Ive been a private patient for 2 ops ive had and don't get me wrong, the hospital was lovely and the food/staff were great but to me, with how expensive HI is and still out of pocket, it wasn't worth it for us. I can't fault public and the only bill I had was for about $13 and it was pain medication after I was cut to get bub out (vaginal birth). Where I live, doesnt matter if you have HI, you still have to pay for everything (copper coast, SA). If I was in adelaide it would probably be worth having.

Does it depend on your private health cover level? I had both mine private (In VIC) and i was OOP $500 all up for each, including an epidural. or does it depend on the hospital? For my seconds i paid the $500 hospital excess when i was admitted for a pulmonary embolism at 7months and had nothing extra to pay when i delivered. The only other extras were the 3d scans at 20 weeks and the NIPT/Harmony test, again that's optional. I have friends that have gone private with no cover and it has cost the about $10,000+ but i wouldnt do private if i didn't have Private Health Insurance....

As someone who lives in the US, yes most would say are health care system is fucked but not all of it. There are pros and cons to both sides. I have 2 kids, both I didn’t have to pay for due to making less than a certain amount for family size. My husband works we get some discounts as a family of 4, though if are planning for another we would get help from the system due to how much we make yearly. Every state is different, the more one makes the more it will come out of pocket. Though we don’t have to wait when going into labor... once contractions come in we are able to go into the hospital, or once water break we can go into the hospital without waiting and we get our own rooms etc.
  • My first was private and it was such a disaster and waste of money. (The ob still charged us his delivery fee when he didn't even deliver my son. He was born at at a different hospital and born sleeping) My other 4 were through the public system and we were treated so differently and if anything there was more attention being high risk pregnancies. I couldn't fault the public system through my experience.
  • @Lilygirl283
I had 3 kids through the public system, and i had the best care, 11.000 for a few niceties is not worth it to me, just my opinion..😊
  • Jade you need someone to give your cards as a gift to get the best out off your cards get you mum or hubby to buy them .Your cards will have a extra powers. Good luck
