For 30 years I was trying to remember why I was sent to stay with my Great Aunt for the Summer I was 7. I knew something drastic must have happened at home but I could not find out. Last year I was standing in my kitchen and it came to me all of a sudden. She lost her husband and they sent me there to keep her company. How precious and now all the memories make sense. Suppressed memories CAN come back .
  • I like that you would rather lose your channel than promote something you don’t like. That really speaks volumes about your moral integrity.

I used to work for a veterinarian drug testing show horses. I was a Pee Collector. The horses who'd been on the track (ex-race horses) were conditioned to pee post-race when you whistled 'La Cucaracha". Worked like magic.

Thank you for not quitting youtube, I believe you're the most reasonable and realistic doctor I know of.
  • @12thDecember
Kicking you out because you only had 300k subscribers. I bet they're kicking themselves now. Good for you, Dr. Mike, sticking to your principles. Sometimes integrity pays off.

Forgotten memories don’t go anywhere in most cases not involving brain degeneration or injury, they get blocked from access by other processes. Interestingly, “forgetting” is an active process in the brain that is different from “not remembering”. It’s why you can have something “on the tip of your tongue” and remember it later.

The best thing you said in this video :Please shower every day. Proper diet and exercise.  Never put all your trust or faith in the Medical Industry, or you will die early. :glasses-purple-yellow-diamond::face-red-heart-shape::yt:

Thanks for not quitting YouTube. I hate that some company called y'all a failure when you probably own one of the best medical YouTube channels we have here.

My mum had a small patch of dry skin on her top lip that wouldn’t heal since 2018, so eventually spoke to the doctor. Turned out it was basal cell carcinoma (skin cancer). She was prescribed some chemotherapy cream and got the all clear last week, thank goodness! Always wear sunscreen!

My thoughts take over when I watch YouTube to the point that the video ends and I have no idea what it said. The brain is a powerful organ!!!
  • It's great you refused to advertise products you didn't like out of honesty to your viewers. Well done for your integrity.
  • The memory thing makes sense to me. That loss of connection to a memory is exactly why I can't remember single points of data. I have to have multiple data points to remember so that I have multiple avenues to access that memory. I can remember entire lists of names of people but I can't remember a single name unless I connect it to an existing set in my head.

First, it's important to identify the allergen. Dog allergy is our body's reaction (conjunctivitis, rhinitis, atopic dermatitis) to proteins in a pet's saliva, hair, urine and skin. These proteins can remain in the air for hours. Some people are allergic to a specific type of protein, such as the protein released by unneutered male dogs, so, you could have a female dog or a neutered male dog.
  • Thank you for not quitting YouTube. And a HUGE thank you for not being pushed into endorsing things that you can't fully stand behind as a medical professional. Your comment about extra vitamins and such not really shortening illness time really hit home with me. My family has chronic medical issues--everything from severe asthma and autoimmune hives to chronic sinusitis and a deviated septum. If I had a dollar for every time someone said, "Oh, you should take this vitamin," or "You need to be exposed to more germs," or "More time outdoors would help your asthma," I'd be a heck of a rich person. You'd think that they'd understand if there's a genetic predisposition to health issues and you've been dealing with it for almost FORTY years, something like a vitamin isn't going to magically fix it. Having regular checkups, eating healthy, and following treatment plans that my specialists give me, however, does help me live a better quality of life.

LOL...my mother trained my brothers and I to go to the bathroom before we went anywhere. So, even now at 76, when someone says, "Let's go", I have to use the bathroom. My mother trained me well.

Traumatic memories can be unconsciously kept deep in the brain and then can be triggered by a similar experience that brings back memories of the trauma. This is a form of survival that keeps memories from becoming overwhelming to remember. 😢

More than ever needing a doctor with great grades, we need way more doctors with bigger hearts and tenacity for their patients.
