Carian Phalanx Astronomer vs Alecto -- Elden Ring

I'd never played a Souls-like before picking up Elden Ring, but I've been doing pretty well so far. Aggressive wizard with a sword is a surprisingly effective build against most enemies. Except against Black Knife assassins. Especially Alecto. I died to her so many times... Decided to switch up my tactics on a whim, and it actually worked! So I caught the clip for future free serotonin.
Armor doesn't matter as long as you can at least medium roll; I'm using the Preceptor's big hat for the extra FP, usually I like something that shows my dude's face. Weapon of choice is the Misericorde here for its crit multiplier (my usual at the time was Crystal Sword; I've since switched to Godskin Stitcher as the best fusion between power and speed/crit for my style). I don't use my Ash of War at all because I forgot it's there from having the crystal sword for so long ^.^:; Staff also doesn't really matter since you're only using the Phalanx, and only for the poise damage. Just stay back, abuse what openings she gives you, and do NOT let her land that Helmsplitter. Happy hunting!
