Leland Tyler Wayne (born September 16, 1993), known professionally as Metro Boomin, is an American record producer, record executive, and DJ. He is known for his dark production style and its influence on modern hip hop and trap. He has become famous in the music industry for his producer tags "If Young Metro don't trust you, I'm gon' shoot you" and "Metro Boomin want some more, n****", respectively spoken by frequent collaborators Future and Young Thug. He has worked with various artists such as The Weeknd, 21 Savage, Drake, Travis Scott, and Kanye West.

Raised in St. Louis, Wayne began his music career as a producer in 2009, at age 16; he relocated to Atlanta to attend Morehouse College in 2011 and continued to work extensively with Atlanta-based artists Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Gucci Mane, and Migos. Wayne gained mainstream success after producing the song "Tuesday" by iLoveMakonnen and Drake, which reached number 12 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Wayne subsequently produced the U.S. top-20 singles "Jumpman" by Drake and Future and "Low Life" by Future featuring the Weeknd before attaining his first number one with "Bad and Boujee" by Migos. He followed this with "Congratulations" by Post Malone, "Tunnel Vision" by Kodak Black, "Mask Off" by Future, "Bank Account" by 21 Savage, and his second U.S. number one "Heartless" by The Weeknd.

Wayne released the collaborations Savage Mode (2016) and Savage Mode II (2020) with 21 Savage, DropTopWop (2017) with Gucci Mane, Perfect Timing (2017) with Nav, Double or Nothing (2017) with Big Sean. Wayne's debut studio album Not All Heroes Wear Capes (2018), and its follow-up, Heroes & Villains (2022), both debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200. The latter of which spawned the single "Creepin" alongside The Weeknd and 21 Savage, which reached the top ten in several countries, including the U.S., where it peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Metro Boomin's highest charting U.S. single.

He became insanely popular without rapping a single verse. I didn’t even know he was the producer of Mask Off, absolute masterpiece!
  • metro created so many classic hits. hes already solidified himself as a goat
  • The fact that we might get a JID & Metro album makes my mouth water. It's that mixup we all want.
  • I saw Metro live at Coachella and blown away how many hits and guest he had. I didn’t even know he produced so much of my favorite songs from my college years. I never knew who the producer was but I always heard the Metro calling. The new Spiderman track also fire 🔥
  • Metro was the reason why i started making beats when i was 14. im from Germany and even people who dont know anything about music production, know metro boomin or have heard this name before. no wonder, every successful song in 2016,17,18 had the metro producer tag, you couldn't overlook it.

If I was Metro watching this, I would feel so genuinely proud of myself. It’s beautiful how your talk about his music. You really have listened to him for years and have a genuine appreciation for his craft. Thank you for sharing ❤
  • I actually love Metro's selection of artists on Heroes and Villains. He chose the best of the 2010s artists. I think that's an album I'll be trapping to for years...

I will say metro is someone I will continue to support because he really is hardworking person. Just like volksgeist
  • He was a grade below me in high school and I had no idea until recently. I was told by friends he left school to go do music in other cities in high school. So it started very young.

Let's not forget that Metro Boomin executive produced What A Time To Be Alive, the collaborative mixtape project by Drake & Future. It debuted on Billboard 200 at #1. I don't think it was mentioned here at all, this is why i felt like i have to remind everyone. At this point, my man can't do nothing wrong. He's the real-life King Midas - everthing he touches somehow turn into gold 😂
  • Don Tolliver's Love Sick is a bop! Love that album!
