Nothing better than a quick tug when you're all out at sea.

I've read about, watched videos about ships, all the different types of huge carriers and tugboats, in my 73 years on this planet, this is the first time I've heard tugboats referred to as "Sheepdogs Of The Ocean's Harbors", I nearly spit out my coffee when I heard the lady say that. Thanks so much for sharing such great videos, I enjoyed them.

I grew up in a boatyard and am absolutely terrified of tugboats and their power. Container ships freak me out too! Vessels that massive are just too large for me to trust, or comprehend.

Recently just finished building two of three sister ships for Crowley that work in the San Francisco Bay. Look out for the Apollo and Athena both packing well over 6000 hp each, Athena being closer to 7000.
  • I marveled at Tugboats as a kid . Today they are much more impressive as to what they are capable of doing .

"no matter how small you are.. you have the ability to push and pull others for good"
  • All sailors love watching the tugboats. A quick tug and all the seamen are out all over the deck.

Could have used one or two of these in Baltimore Maryland to save the Key Bridge from collapsing.

Tugboat Captain here. After 22 years it still amazes me.
  • “The tugboat, for its size, is the most powerful craft afloat. And the Star tugs are the power behind the docks and waterways that make up the Bigg City Port. This... is Tugs.”
