I've been building my dream home and homestead off scratch on 18 acres of forested land in Canada Welcome to my home build and my desire to become more self sufficient!

This week I'm wiring my electrical panel and wiring my maintenance room! Bringing in the lights and wiring the receptacles was such a fun task! And wiring my panel really felt like the redemption I needed. #building #construction #homebuild #diy #diyprojects

  • That inspector was VERY wrong. Take a deep breath!!! YOU most certainly CAN do it!! 👍👍❤️❤️
  • You have taught yourself so much - the amount of new things you try every DAY is way more than the average human. It’s deeply inspiring to watch you work, learn, make a mistake, give yourself grace and keep working. We can do hard things!

You have done an amazing job on your home. Any electrician would be proud to have you as an apprentice, especially the way you made that panel look. I’ve done electrical work for 40 years and have been doing maintenance for 20. I was told years ago, “Make it look like you would do it in your home”. I’ve been told so many times that I was wasting money and time but I give them that explanation and they agree and that’s what keeps the customer coming back. I love maintenance and diagnosing problems, like you did with the arc fault. Start at the beginning until you find the problem. Keep up the good work and keep smiling. We’re all here and support you. Thank you for your videos.

I have to say you always amaze me with your ability to learn new skills. I’m a 67 year old woman and I wish I had the confidence you have when I was your age. I’m glad you won’t let one very little man ruin your vibe you’ve got this. ❤

Biata, I am speechless and in total awe…. YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!!!
  • @jamescumbo1928
Biata the panel looks fantastic. Hold your head high. Even the pro's make mistakes. You are a formidable woman who has great character. Much love from Washington state USA

When you replace "why is this happening to me" with "what is this trying to teach me?" everything shifts. And don't forget that you are a very smart and awesome lady
  • @aartlindner9738
I told you before and i tell you again 'I am very!!!!! impressed with everything you have done and accomplissed" don't give up.

One day you will be sitting in your home having a mixed drink enjoying yourself and thinking about all of the things that you have accomplished, and laughed about the inspector. You go girl.
  • @freedomrider30
When you ran the wires to the panel a few weeks back, I knew you would do the panel justice. And you did!!! 100%! A+!!! 👍🏻👍🏻😎😎😎
  • It was 97% humidity in Ct a few days ago. I’m sorry about the hold up in your plans…..Your doing an amazing job. Don’t be discouraged. I love your video’s 💯and I’m here rooting for you.
  • @jent1437
Dumb, look around at what you’ve achieved, your house is beautiful! And I think it’s great you’re showing your mistakes, definitely an inspiration, this is your little blip and will pass soon and be a distant memory, you got this girl!
  • @Chalieboi76
Your panel looks like a professional did because a professional did do it. You are a professional because you take the time to do it right… you researched the proper way and did it yourself. Love your work , the way you and your family work together. That’s professional in itself. Good job!!❤
  • @AaronHope_Sow
Props to you for persisting after that major setback. It's such an inspiring story that you will laugh about later. Until then, we are all still in your corner and enjoying you rock this build 💪🏾💪🏾

You are an inspiration for your viewers. Learning includes doing things right and doing somethings wrong. The lessons are helping others who watch your videos what to look out for. As a novice, you will make assumptions that hurt. Keep asking questions and doing the research. The power panel is absolutely outstanding, much better than I would ever have done. Remember how far you have come and how much knowledge you have aquired. Always keep a positive attitude, even when it doesn't quite feel that way. A loyal follower of an amazing woman.
  • Give yourself a break; it is a learning experience. You got this, girl power!
  • @suenorton873
Just before the end of the video I found myself smiling at your joy of finishing the electrical. I'm so proud of you Biata! .... And then you hit us with the news of the front door roof cover. We all make mistakes honey, so now you have to wait. Clean up the yard, clean up the inside of the house and most of all, hang with that beautiful daughter of yours..... Stay cool!
  • @hulkthedane7542
Idea for making the holes bigger in your utility room loft/ceiling; screw a rectangular piece of plywood/OSB over the hole as centered as you can. Then drill a new, bigger hole through that extra layer, that will then work as a guide for the cup drill until you are through both layers. Once the hole is cut/drilled you can unscrew the rectangular piece...... It is SO nice to see you smile. You will get there! All the way. It will become your home! Take care. All the best wishes from Denmark 👍🇨🇦🇩🇰🇨🇦.
  • Hi Biata, so happy that you have had a good week and enjoyed doing the electrical work. Your work is always neat and tidy from what you have shown us. I'm glad that you are changing your inspector, the other one was really out of line in his comments. I hope that with all the things you are doing between now and your next inspection that everything will work out for you. Please remember you are doing an amazing job! We are all here behind you supporting you along the way. See you next week, take care, Naomi x
