In today's class we are working with an otherwise flighty Indian ringneck who can be resistant about going back into his cage and doesn't want to fly to his owner.

She was so receptive to ANY feedback. This Ringneck's human is doing great!
  • @Avocetexotics
He seems super calm for a ringneck! He is such a cutie! I love how his owner was so receptive to everything y'all suggested! You can tell she really cares about her bird!
  • @Loveofpets
It's nice to see a Ringneck that is not phobic of new people. His owner seems very nice and willing to learn more about training her beautiful Ringneck.

It's so great that Sharon understands what she needs to do next. She'll have a long and loving relationship with this pretty bird!
  • I could tell from the first 5 second of interaction that Sharon actually watched their videos and came prepared, forget the ringneck- go Sharon!!

To get my ringneck in the evening into the cage is turn off all lights and place a flashlight on top of cage facing the cage door. He goes in very easy plus there is a little millet for him as treat. I got him as a rescue. He comes down to table perch when he wants to train. He knows to turn around, go upside down on perch. Sometimes comes when I call. He has never wanted hand or arm near him. I love him just the way he is.

My heart kinda broke a little when Sharon said how the other girls would flip Francois off. I know I'm biased since I have a green IRN as well, but I just can't imagine how anyone can resist a bird this adorable!
  • @ClydeOnPluto
YES! Some IRN training! I’d loooooove to see more. Hopefully, we get more people with IRNs.

This lady is sooo sweet and so open to her mistakes ☺️😚
  • @John.Spandli
I'm getting good at this. I said "like Morgan" before Dave did.
  • @MsDaudur
That’s the best behaved ringneck I’ve ever seen. What a sweet owner too, lucky birb! 💜
  • It's a really nice Video and the owner tried so hard to give her feathered friend a good life, it's so adorable! I wish it was that easy for me haha! My two yellowneck Amazones come from a traumatizing home and are afraid of everything. They didn't even know what fresh veggies or water or a (spray bottle) shower was. The female is pretty young and VERY receptive to treats. She will do almost everything for it, even fly through the whole flat to get to me when I am in the kitchen, because I always give her something if she interacts with us. The male however is so scared of everything and not a very good flighter (the vet assumed he got hit, because half his feathers on one wing are broken off) and it's a nightmare... he even tries to stop the female from flying over because he is jealous that she gets a treat for coming over. For a Walnutpiece he does step up on my arm but very reluctant and he flees instantly, when he got the treat. My husband can't even come close to him, treat or not he will bite because he is SO scared. Introducing them to new things (target training is not an option right now) takes about 2 weeks (putting stuff in the room, placing it in different spots etc.) Poor babies :( But we have probably the next 60 years to get them to a healthy diet, learn what vegetables and fruits and nuts are and be a little less scared of.... everything. My personal big breakthrough with the male was, that he does want the treat and although he is not willing to interact with hands, he is fine doing "tricks" for treats from a little distance. So far he waves <3 or says hello and does get a treat for it. He does it when asked for it but also when he wants us to come over to give him some save-distance-attention :D

I love this. I have an IRN that is just not friendly at all he just screams i love watching other people with their IRN.
  • Love how she knew how much he was able to handle and when to end his training sessions! Such a quiet sun conure in the background 😂
  • @puppypundit
François is adorable! I love their innocent little faces and cute voices.
