  • Here in India one can commonly see them in the wild Also, they are illegal to be kept as pets in India as to protect the Indian wildlife.

  • From my experience, it can take years before birds get cuddly. However, older ones can want constant petting.

    It is important to note, especially if you want them to have that beautiful ringed look, that ONLY the males acquire the fully developed rings. The females might get one, but it will be far harder to see the coloring. The one I rescued is an albino and female. Pretty rare to find one like her from what we've been told. It is also highly important to check with your local jurisdictions regarding captivity laws and if your area permits ownership of that species, regardless of which breed you get.
