Are Some Birds Just UNTRAINABLE? | Cheyenne the Snake Discovery Macaw

In today's video we are working with ‪@SnakeDiscovery‬'s Emily and Ed and their 20+ year old blue and gold macaw, Cheyenne. Emily has had Cheyenne since she was 16 years old and she was a rescue then and ex-breeder bird who came to her already plucking. We are working hard to change Emily's mind about Cheyenne being trainable!

As soon as she said, “We’ve clicker trained a snake”, I knew they were going to succeed. ❤️
  • @ChaosTsuki
I won't ever get tired of seeing experts exchanging knowledge to better the lives of animals.
  • Her reaction to Emily saying, "we've done target training with an alligator" was priceless!
  • I believe all the birds no matter how old they are are trainable.. just need time, patient and proper training.. Cheyenne is amazing..

The collab of my dreams! I don't know if either of you have done things together before, but I would love to see more from you both together!

When I first saw Emily I thought she looks familiar, I have seen her channel before. Really hope they stick to the new diet change, it will be so much better for Cheyenne, and the reward will be a much more alert Birdie for training and overall happiness, and definitely better skin and feathers. Great job as always Jamie and Dave, Thanks for taking us along.
  • Everyone’s so excited to share and actively listen—wholesome! Cheyenne’s a rockstar.

I'm loving the Cheyenne "series". Are you planning to make a video on the blue headed pionus in one of the masterclasses from that weekend?
  • @Ansonidak
This reminds me a bit of my early training with my green cheek. He was 7 years old and had always been clipped but not severely. He could fly pretty good but didn't really want to. I felt so proud when I started getting longer and longer flights. He's a pro now and will come to me from 2 rooms away.

the idea of a parrot in a sweater is adorable!
  • ❤ both Chanel’s you and #SnakeDiscovery work tirelessly to improve the lives of animals. It has been amazing to watch Cheyenne become motivated to learn the clicker and tap the stick as well as flying to Emily.

Oh, what a funny coincidence, I just came across Snake Discovery's channel yesterday through someone else's channel, and now here they are on yours haha! Aw, and awesome to see Cheyenne working for that reward and starting to get the hang of targetting!

Our cockatoo is terrified of reptiles. Even seeing them on tv. This macaw, she's beautiful! Another great video.

My favorite part is near the end where Capri creeps into frame -- she is Entertainment!

I loved the last footage of Ed target training Cheyenne on the stand in their office, that's so awesome and precious! 😍 They were struggling so much before feels like you changed their life completely! 👏

I’m so happy to see two of my favourite channels doing a collaboration!

Honestly that last but really kind of seemed like she was more engaged. She seems to like learning but is a bit nervous at the newness of it after being so laong (not just in their care of course) just being a perch potato. Excited to follow her progress on their page. You teo are an awesome team
