This is my favorite cover of any Beatles song. Fiona has done a great job interpreting a true Lennon classic.

I love her version. So fluid and unforced, like her voice was custom made for it.

A really sad fact about "Across The Universe" is that John Lennon said about a month before he died that the Beatles never embraced the song. They never took the time to record it properly or as powerfully as it could have been recorded. It makes me happy that decades later, Fiona recorded an absolutely breathtaking version.

My girlfriend and I broke up yesterday. I’ve been stressed all week because I sensed it was coming. What a treasure of a song. It feels like a big hug from the universe.

It’s absurd how beautiful this song is.

I never truly understood the significance of the song when I heard the beatles version. Seeing this version helped me understand that once we achieve inner peace, there is nothing that can happen externally that can change that inner peace. It is what I strive for and was encapsulated in this video so beautifully. Her smile contradicted by absolute madness occuring around her says it all. I have infinite gratitude for allowing me to learn this vital lesson in a way that I understand and me finally being in a place to have the eyes to see and the ears to hear it:) Jai Guru Deva.

"Paper bag," "Shadowboxer," and this DELICIOUS cover of the Beatles' phenomenal hit are reason enough for my proclaiming Fiona Apple as one of my all time favorite female artists.

I grew up with this and it has given me this tiny spot in my mind that has remained peaceful despite being powerless in a dysfunctional home

Fiona’s song is like a hug when I’m sobbing

A depressed person sees this song as the world will never change. The depressed person facing the world sees this as i will continue to be me. Its sad at times. Its comforting at time. Nothing is going to change my world.

this song is one of my favorites of hers even though it isn’t her original song. she sang this so beautifully, as always.

Her voice has always had a smokey quality about it thats hard to put my finger on but i simply love listening to her, even her songs that come from a place of massive pain.

This is probably the best depiction of an enlightened being living in this duality of a world. Like the center of a tornado, there's all kinds of chaos going on but the center is complete stillness. I love it!! 🌪🧘‍♀️🕉❤
