Lead member of the record breaking vocal group The Three Degrees, Valerie is now diversifying, expanding her already impressive resume to include embarking on a solo career. Now, it's your turn to experience the depth
of talent and intensity of feeling that she brings to any song she chooses to sing. You may be ready, but I doubt you're prepared for what you're about to experience !

For over 40 years, Valerie Holiday has been delighting audiences worldwide singing lead with the award winning, record-breaking, number-one-selling group The Three Degrees (When Will I See You Again, Dirty Ol' Man, Year Of Decision, Take Good Care Of Yourself, to name but a few). Now it's time to make the showbiz world a few degrees hotter as Valerie returns to her roots, bringing her undeniable talent and beauty to the stage as a solo performer, alongside her continued work with The Three Degrees.

In her own words, "On the 2nd of December, I was born to Mary and John Holiday in Newark, New Jersey. My early years were spent in Jacksonville, Georgia. I'd often entertain myself singing my rendition of church songs. Sunday morning church services, those prayer meetings and singing songs that were always good for the soul and prayers of getting ready for the Resurrection Day echo in my mind. Most of those songs, I still remember the words to today, and they have helped to keep my spirits lifted and my life on a positive focus. Some years later, we moved to Dorchester, Massachusetts, where we had family nearby. We joined a new church with a children's choir. This is where, I guess, my formal vocal and performing training began. With my soul in the music and a better understanding of the words, I could express the songs that would have the congregation standing in agreement."

@supertrouper Her solo career is a great addition, beside her important contribution into the The Three Degrees. As many people over the world love this trio, it would be a pitty to stop that activity. There's absolutely, imho, no meanigful reason for it. Beside that, Valerie herself, underlines with great conviction, that her solo career is "just another part of her".

I always preferred her voice over Sheila Ferguson's. Preferred Fayette's voice over Sheila's as well. But Ms. Holiday's voice is Super-Soulful. One of the most soulful, controlled vocalists I've ever heard and I've heard alot.

@ramona2400 the concept of Richard was ALWAYS to have 3 excellent singers and NOT to have 1 particular lead-singer like Diana Ross with The Supremes. Valerie did lot of lead-singing too. But, there are also record companies who have major decisions in who sings lead on singles. After all, people namly the customers buys the music... So Richard DID see it, imho! All the ladies of this group are incredible artists and I love their versatility.
