A lot of people have been asking where they can watch this. Sentai Filmworks actually has a really affordable Bluray release on their website called "Vow in the Snow." Go buy it!

Ilya: "Why did you took my movie, onii-chan" Shirou:"Cuz I'm the main character"

It's weird thinking that this blood bath is related to a show about magical girl children that occasionally have fan service
  • Remember. The moment Shirou joined the entire Grail War ended in a single Night.
  • @MintyFire5
This Shirou has BALLS to flirt with Angelica during battle (even checks her out later in the series)

When I endend the movie I didn't know it was of fate kaleid and I just was like "WAIT, THAT WAS FROM THE LOLICON FATE SPINOFF???"

You never mentioned that though Angelica overpowers him, she only does it with an actual example of his very argument; sometimes one thing does outweigh everything else. His entire drive here is that he is willing to sacrifice the wellbeing of the world in order to make his sister happy, because her life means more to him than all the countless others. In the same vein, Ea is one sword whose power is paramount and it is capable of overpowering the combined might of every other sword in existence. Shirou even knows he can't stop it as soon as he looks at it because he can't read and duplicate its power. Such a perfectly written scene, that the antagonist only wins the fight by embodying the protagonist's ideal, and in so doing allows the protagonist to win because he achieved his goal even so.

My opinion on how he survived? Affections of the Grail EX.

As someone that just generally likes Shirou/EMIYA, I can say that Miyu's Brother is great. I love seeing a take on the character basically just being as awesome as he can be throughout all his screentime. Even if the ideals and characterization are different, we basically get Shirou at the end of UBW for the whole time in terms of powerset. And that's cool. I'd say Unlimited Blade Works is always a win.

I hate Prisma, but I got into it because I heard of this version of Shirou. I regret nothing.

Also am I the only one that thinks that the hole in Sakura's chest is the same as her command seals?

When I started Prisma Illya it was just because I wanted Fate content. I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it either. I chose to read the manga because I could finish it faster than the anime. When I mentioned this online I was immediately told to watch Oath Under Snow. I almost didn't, because I wasn't liking the series so far. I'm glad I changed my mind, because while I love Shirou as a character in the original Fate/Stay Night. This Shirou has become my favourite. Thanks for this video on Shirou. It was really fun to watch.

Silver Link showed so much potential here. I wish they did more work similar to this.
  • @kiibo1786
Idk if I just missed you mentioning this, but I absolutely LOVE the scene where Angelica whips out Ea, completely overpowers all of Shirou's blade, and says that the importance of one can overshadow the importance of many. Then Shirou just thinks about Miyu, who he chose to save over everyone else in the world, and says something like "yeah, it really can"

The concept of using cards and magic instead of the servants themselves is interesting.
  • @stretchmcgee
It's very indicative of how amazing Oath Under Snow is that this is the only Fate story that ever got me to shed tears. Seriously, everything about this Shirou's journey, his rejection of being a hero when weighed against the value of a loved one's life, and his sheer conviction in staying true to that ultimate revelation... It all just hits me so much in the feels, especially when he acknowledges Angelica's victory which itself only serves to affirm his ideal; sometimes one thing can outweigh everything else. Absolutely beautiful.
