Hi Mick Get your blow torch a little closer to that fuel tank, then you will do what it needs, Burning! Rather you than me, Keep up the good work!!!
  • Wow! From triage. to surgery, to "It's Alive!" ... A lot of knowledge shared in this video. Thank you for sharing.

I've been running hard. I needed some Mick while doing some much needed mechanical work of my own. Just clears the thoughts and calms the mind. Great show sir.

Mick. Just watched this video and I feel that I need to caution you against wetting the Putty with saliva. Before I retired we had salesman from a company that use to sell these types of two pack compounds he did the same as you did. After a while he ended up with cancer in his face and had a large part removed. So beware. Regards Peter

Fantastic fix mick there is nothing wrong with a ryobi lol I've got a ryobi rbc30ses strimmer have had it from brand new in 2008 and it has had a lot of hammer have had no problems with it at all just new primer bulb and a new strimmer head and it is still going strong 👍👍👍👍

Thank you for the content you share. I have a Ryobi 18" chainsaw for 3 years now and love it. Truth is I have not done anything to it, but I have been thinking I should do some preventive maintenance. Best chainsaw I have ever had. I don't really use it very often but when needed it all ways works.

I tend to put the carb in the ultrasonic cleaner for 30 mins every spring

HI Mick. I feel like that sometimes with Ryobi machinery at times lol. I agree about the fuel (I bought one that instead of 50:1 2 stroke mix they had put a 50/50 mix), but in the owners manual it says to get it retuned after 4-5 tanks worth of fuel it's used. It normally just requires a carb tune (special tool required) to get it to run properly. What you have shown is a typical example of people trying to fix things, and not realising that if you need to drill it, then you're doing something wrong e.g. the fuel pipes to big. I've had 2 mowers come in where the owners have drilled the pop rivets out to repair the pull cord (instead of undoing 3-4 bolts)! DOH!!
  • Another great video and always like seeing u include Riley boy in your videos mate Mick I’m so thankful for you and others that takes the time and initiative to do these videos on a consistent basis that helps dummies like me learn how to repair different equipment. If I can do it ANYONE can do it through the help and guidance of professionals like Micks mowers The Mower Man. And Bonus I’ve met some great people on here and made some GREAT FRIENDS. THANKS 🙏🏻 MICK FOR ALL U DO AND HAVE DONE FOR THE small engine repair community it’s much better because of you. (Close knit community). Everyone is so willing to help others in anyway they can. Tell Riley boy and Mrs P we said hello. Thanks so much Mick The Mower Man

Dont forget to line up the gaskets on either side of the carb properly. There may be fuel inlet ports (tiny holes) that the gasket can cover up.
  • @bossdog1480
Very interesting Mick. I'm working on one of those now my self. Very informative on the carby fix. That fuel tank is made from HDPE. Pretty much nothing sticks to it. I hope it holds.
  • Great in depth video Mick. My 20 year old Partner strimmer isn't running right, fuel lines may be the wrong way round, after I messed with it. I'll go and check. Thanks for the advice.
  • @DonaldByrum
great video for the holes in the gas tank you had if you wanted to fix them you can take a soldering iron and let it heat up and rake on each side to melt the plastic and Slide the plastic right over and fill the holes in
  • @garyclifton2180
Nice one Mick might look at my old one tomorrow feels good compression got spark tried fuel in carb but nothing.
  • @markcreeney-if7rr
I have found stripping and cleaning these little carbs a bit hit and miss. Usually end up replacing the carb
  • @paulstir
Well done Mick , some great information in this one , you really are unstoppable bud keep at it
  • @rhyswood9151
Great video Mick, I love working on mowers but I just like how small two stroke equipment is, I can fit like two mowers in my shed, but like 10+ strimmers, it's better if you don't have much space to work on two stroke equipment, but I actually prefer mowers, it's just space, thanks for the video 👍
