In recent years, the market for expensive brands has grown secretly. We are now living in an economically uncertain time. Inflation is being felt in many countries. Wars and uncertain political situations can be felt. Also spurred on by social media/media role models, a new, not particularly financially strong group of buyers was gained, which is now disappearing. I think the market is just normalizing and that's okay, it's becoming more exclusive again. Yes, some brands are having a bit of trouble and are restructuring, others aren't having it so much. But that's not unusual. The example from the British royal family makes no sense, since these people (especially the wife of the heir to the throne) consciously wear certain clothes in order to achieve certain effects, in this case in order to consciously be perceived as approachable. Of course, this princess also wears very expensive haute couture dresses I have a brand where I am a ready-to-wear customer and I like to wear that, I usually wear things without a logo, which hardly anyone recognizes in everyday life.
  • This doesn´t make any sense. People in the past bought luxury items because less is more. If people today don´t buy luxury, buy what? Fast fashion???? This is bullshit! The changes in consumption that happened about 5 years ago and are more prevalent today, are derived from political changes, wars, general price increases and loss of purchasing power. People these days don't buy better because of that! People continue to buy Fast Fashion. What was created was the shame of using expensive items with visible logos for fear of being discarded, being frowned upon and associated with having nothing on their minds while millions go hungry. It's just this!
  • I have no sympathy for brands like Chanel. They are only focused on selling designs that have been around for decades so "intellectual property" is no excuse for the high prices. And it becomes easier and easier to copy these designs over time. Ironically, the :yt: gtdupe :yt: brand could save the billions of dollars she says it costs to fight counterfeiting, just by lowering prices.
  • My H Q D U P S super fakes are amazing! Most of my genuine bags are broken or torn! Unless these places start backing up their quality with warranties, I will never buy from them again. I can afford the real thing, I choose the best quality fakes because they don't break. I don't mind if something goes wrong.
