As always, we’ll start from the back. The most expensive goalkeeper in history is Kepa Arrizabalaga. He moved to Chelsea from Athletic Club in 2018 for 80 million euros, but right now, he is at Real Madrid. But that’s not exactly as great as it sounds.
He flopped at Chelsea so badly that they were forced to buy three other goalkeepers after him. He was loaned out to Real Madrid to fill in for Courtois during his injury, but he ended up being a backup to the backup goalie and will surely be going back to Chelsea once his loan spell is over.

Kepa is unlucky. He's at least on par with Ederson in terms of goalkeeping, just slightly worse distribution. However, he never mentally fortified. I remember he started well, but after his fiancee suddenly left, he was never the same, then came the Sarri incident, which further stress him out. Nevertheless, he was Chelsea's hero during the Europa League win in 2019 and of course also the reason Chelsea won the 2021 Super Cup.
