In 2015, it was surely Messi. He scored 58 goals in 57 appearances that season while still providing 31 assists. Thatās 89 goal contributions in 57 games. Bro, insane!
But it wasnāt just about the numbers. Look at the impact. 2014 was the worst year for Messi and Barcelona. Barcelona lost La Liga to Atletico on the final day of the season, and that meant that they suffered their first trophyless season in a long time. It got worse for Messi as he lost the World Cup final that summer to a lone extra-time goal. A season like that can ruin anybody, but Messi was able to come out from that and produce an all-timer. It was incredible to see.

I still feel like 2018 and 2019 go to Messi. He won the Golden Boot, won the Playmaker Award, had most G/A in Europe (most goals and most assists in one season is crazy!), his individual performance was amazing, and he won LaLiga with a mediocre Barcelona side and did all that TWICE
