I’m CURSED! When Metal Detecting Disaster Strikes Twice!

Published 2024-03-22
This is a return to the forest where I previously found a 1600's silver coin. What started well, ended in metal detecting "disaster".
At some point I thought I redeemed myself after another relatively big silver coin find from 17th century. Then everything went crazy, with a very old looking ring and 1700's buttons.

Just when I started to think "that's too much, do I deserve all this" something awful happened... I found another smaller silver coin, but its edge showed fresh damage. The very fragile coin must have touched a thin, but strong tree root and broke. At this point I already had enough, but it got worse...

A few relics later a bad sounding signal appeared. It was a third silver coin... with another damaged edge! That's when I had enough and decided to quit. Especially after what happened a week before:    • Fantastic Metal Detecting Outing With...

I needed almost an entire week to even look at the coins. At the very end of this video I'm showing my cleaning method used for this case.

What could have been an amazing relic hunt, turned into a "disaster", that made me even consider quitting this hobby.

Five days later I'm still sad about what happened, but I'm slowly starting to "recover".

I hope you enjoyed this adventure.

P.s. My external microphone that got some damage during a rainy outing seems to work again! I hope it improved the audio quality of this video.

Thanks for watching!
Have a great day, or evening!

  • We've all hit our good targets. I've scratched entirely too many relics and such. I know it's frustrating, at least you found the silver and it's safe and sound at your house. No longer buried in the dirt 😊
  • A magnificent hunt. Watching you bring these coins back to life is thrilling. A pure joy with no curse attached. X
  • Awesome video. I really enjoy watching you clean and preserve artifacts and coins. ✌️😎

Even though they were "accidentally" damaged (we're all human) you extracted some of the most ancient coins from being lost forever!! I, for one, enjoyed your hunt with glee!! Good work 24!!

Beautiful man, I think you should go back and grid that place, it looks to me like they might have camped in that section. Don't be too hard on your self, that area needs to be excavated carefully by you. Without being rushed. It's not a race, we enjoy the process of the way you do things. You are a pro, you are finding incredible objects. I hunt modern parks here in the states, you should see what the lawn mower does to coins. Love your work.

Curse of the coin sitting on an edgewise angle.

Dont fret my friend,it happens to the best of us....😢 #9 looks to me like an old drawer pull. As far as the coins are concerned before you stop detecting change your digging implement to a small shovel cut a round plug with the target in the center maybe then those soft tiny roots will be pulled wway from your targets.
