The moths, I mean. Not the slugcats. Slugcats look like creatures made entirely of pudding.

Rain World is a game about desperately trying to survive in a broken ecosystem, but at least you get to be an adorable slugcat while doing it! Can we find our way back to our nomadic family before we are consumed by giant terrifying monsters or swept away by torrential downpours? No, probably not. But we'll try anyway, because what else are we going to do?

Tutorial friend will help you go to where you need to go but when the rain is near it points to the closest shelter.
  • rain world is the most in depth game I may have ever played, however is is also really hard but I think it is very much worth it to try and finish the entire game (: ... also buddy will try to lead you to the next closest shelter, it lead you to the previous one because you backtracked a little bit
  • Slugcat, like every cat, is a liquid. Also, they are surprisingly agile, and have a couple of moves the game doesn't tell you about, like the backflip around the 7 minute mark.
  • Great time to be playing it the developers are soon going to release a new update called downpour wich has all the new characters.

found this channel after going down a bit of a rainworld rabbit hole after watching some videos on it's world building and AI and I'm definitely sticking around. The fact that basic competency, ability to gleam information without it being expressly stated, actually reading the information when it is stated, etc. are all rare traits for youtubers probably isn't a good thing, but hey whether it should be more common than it is or not it's at least good to see. (seriously the amount of times I've seen youtubers completely ignore information, then get angry at the game for expecting them to know the thing that they were told, and skipped past, is just infuriating) thinly veiled rant over, my point is it's nice to see a decently entertaining youtuber that's actually competent and fun to watch, rare combination. (okay maybe not completely over)

WOOO this game is my new hyperfixation and whenever im really into a game i absolutely love watching people play it, and im already liking your commentary on everything and how you're noticing random little details other people (myself incldued) never noticed! looking forward to binging this in the background while i try 100%ing rain world XD

Yooooo you're playing my favorite game! And doing quite well for yourself off the bat, too. Those symbols aren't Japanese, but they're certainly inspired by kanji. The game has a few other different fake writing systems, one inspired by the latin/cyrillic alphabets and one inspired by the Korean alphabet.

I'm super glad to see you try Rainworld. it's one of my favourite games of all time, and the DLC approaching in about four months, this is a perfect point to get ready for it!
  • @vfanon
! Damn, an obscure youtuber I like is playing my all time favorite game. Hell yeah, that’s nice to see
  • @birb1582
I always loved the auto batfly grab, because it really did suggest that batflies were monk and survivor's favorite food, and probably a preferred food among most slugcats, because they always seem to reach out and try to grab them. Plus it certainly does make it really easy when sometimes batfly ai is just so weird and random

After watching the other playthrough that is currently going I can say that monk is the optimal character for learning gameplay mechanics, survivor is the optimal character for learning the lore and hunter is the challenge character. Also hunter has some of its own lore that cannot be found in survivor playthrough, but it's hard to get it, since challenge, you know.

20:00 lmao just talking about how he keeps you alive and then he points you to 2 lizards 😆
  • @JossOwX
The tutorial doesn't teach you this but if u wanna just drop the object you're holding without throwing it you can hold down and then hold the grab/eat button
  • @brobzoid
absolutely agree about the game being reminiscent of flashback. This whole game feels like someone tried to make a cinematic platformer (what we used to call games like prince of persia, flashback, oddworld, etc) based on knytt (the open-ended platformer from nifflas, haven't seen your ynglet series yet so idk if you are familiar)
  • @diggory4ii385
I can finally watch a let's play of the game that i've watched many hour analysis of!!! I also have never heard a single person say anything negative about this game
  • @denismayak
Oh wow, thank you for playing this. I love when you play Indie classics.
  • This will be interesting to watch as someone whose done the game 100% just because of how different it will be to how I went through the game
  • Rainworld is literally raw experience, nothing is fabricated. Whatever happens, happens.
  • I haven’t watched the video yet obviously but I’m super excited to watch you play and react to this!
