  • The main advantage is that you are lighter because your wallet is less heavy after purchase

After installing this kit, I was able to win the Tour the France last year...
  • @murcielago188
I have it because they look pretty, that is all. I never had the illusion that these things would significantly improve my riding!
  • @trbeyond
I love mine. Way faster. No doubt. And no doubt that placebo effect is real!

Good analysis! There are so much more variants of increasing speed, partly also depending on the athlete, that a pulley wheel optimization is negligible. For instance the weather conditions, roadsurface, but one of my most favourite is how long can you ride in the most aero position whilst maintaing optimal power through the pedals? Sitting upright, flat or anything in between literally saves miles per hour. The other thing is "what is thé function of a derailleur?": guiding the chain! Optimizing low frixtion in the gearing is a better way to increase speed and endurance 😀

Thanks! This discussion evokes the question of what upgrades are actually he best bang for the buck. Tires, lubes, chain, aero, wheels, weight.....

Good video. I feel they are more for looks and the gains aren't too huge. Go green!
  • The biggest issue is that most of these (especially the Ceramic Speed) are just ridiculously overpriced. They cost so much that you can buy many things that will actually yield much better results for you. At least KCNC is relatively cheap.
  • @luxsasha
great video and solid intro showing us your perspective!
  • Interesting summary and very informative, one thing you can’t deny is the appearance is aesthetically pleasing, which subsequently always has a cost 👍🏽

You forgot to mention that the aero penalty of those big pulley wheels might completely offset the watts saved.
  • @LastTruth77
Great video. Best information I have gotten as a new cyclist. Thank you
  • @ColdAsIce247
Thanks a bunch for getting that idea out of my head and saving some money :-) And Go Green! ;-)

My road bike on 11th and I bought 12th 1cm different. Original was like as this video not even spinning. After I installed a new one my bike feels different. I believe most standard bike has those jockey wheels in it. I am super happy with upgrade. Your video theory is make sense 👍🏻

I got Ceramicspeed coated OSPW on my red axs, I do not really care if it saves me 20 secs or not, cause I am slow anyways, I bought it only because it looks awesome.
  • how much watts and weight saved going to single speed and removing all that stuff? are there chain tensioners for the front derailleur so that i can still shift up front?
  • Probably not much in the way of anything measurable, but what additional aero resistance is incurred by the large set up, if any?
