This week brings us a huge step forward, as we finally get a coat of primer on our helm and steps.

This is a project we have been working on here and there since November, with so many tweaks and little pieces coming together.

From the helm that was originally shipped to us in the container, we brought it further forward to the cockpit bulkhead and had to make many adjustments for it to sit in its new place. Steps were first mocked up, and then once it was warm enough out to do glassing in the ambient air of the tent, we were able to build the steps and the storage area that sits next to them.

Now, after bonding all these pieces together and fairing them to a smooth finish, we're able to coat all of it with our Super Build Primer from Alexseal Paint. The transformation has honestly left me breathless and so giddy for things to come! To think that something we planned out and built with our own hands looks like it always been a molded part of the boat, makes me so excited for how the rest of our catamaran is going to come together.

We hope you enjoy!

Thank you SO MUCH to all our Patrons for your continued support. Without your help, these videos, And This Build, would not be possible.

Much love,
Jessica, Matt & Georgie

Matt, you made the helm station look like it was supposed to be that way. Well done! Awesome video Jessica! Thanks for the update!

I've lost count how many layers of fairing and primer you guys have applied and then sanded...Respect
  • @karitane
I am super impressed with your methodology of how you approach each task. Your Kat is starting to take shape. Well done xxx

Your dedication to this build is remarkable ... and equal parts nuts and admirable. At this point you're way past "in for a penny, in for a pound" and have to see it through, but I wonder how many times you've asked yourselves "what've we gotten ourselves into?" in the past 3+ years? The world'd be a better place if more people had your strength and perseverance.
  • Primer day still impresses me. The helm may not be done but it looks so nicely tied into the rest of the boat with fresh primer. Well done.

As an artist and DIY'er, and as much as I love the water, I don't think I could do it. But Bless your heart for not only taking this on, but sticking with this huge challenge. Full Cred.

Looks really good guys. Well done. You have done such a great job integrating your custom helm area into the boat, with a coat of primer it looks seamless. This must be a great motivator for you both 👍

It must be so rewarding to see the plan come to fruition..Well done to both, you've both earned that night in the town 👊🏻💪🏻👏🏻

Excellent craftsmanship guys. The results so far are such a credit to you both.

Wonderful way to wake up from a nap! Love how “complete” it looks when primed. Great job
  • @donnarocchio936
You both have become Master Craftsmen. Kudos to your work ethic.
  • @kendall6030
That primer definitely transforms things. It's looking beautiful.
  • @gwbaker
Good for you! This is an EXCELLENT episode. You are both so methodical that being able to see it all get figured out and then put together through to the primer in this way is VERY powerful! And the playlist you chose (love "Pandemonium", nice touch) really made it feel like we were there with you, at least for me it did! Gorgeous work!

Such patience and vision, I visited you almost 2 years ago… happy to see how far you are…
  • @tomcoon9038
I LOVED the "6 months in 6 minutes" take! I don't think I've seen you do that before. Like I said in your "short". Looks great! As a side note, that access hole panel under the helm ad on would be a great place for accent lighting to the steps.
  • @jevmen2683
It gets more and more beautiful with every video.
  • @dadedubbledee
Great compilation and a great modification looks factory. It's getting more and more exciting

We had a great time at dinner. Getting into AC was a huge bonus.
