It's not like it's costing Nike money. You either take an L on snkrs and go buy a fake, or you buy a fake version of a shoe Nike hasn't sold in 10 years. Fake sneakers are like a hydra, unless you cut off every head at once, it’ll pop back stronger every time. I would prefer it if brands would use this as an opportunity to capitalize on consumer demand rather than continue with the reseller-first business model that we see on all the hyped drops. They could produce 4x as many Travis Scott 1’s, cut the retail price by $50, and exceed the current profit margins all while killing the ridiculous resell market, but I’m sure they’ll just keep throwing away money trying to kill reps
