Communities across the western U.S. and Canada have been under siege from raging wildfires in recent days.

In rural Idaho, a fast moving wildfire sparked by lightning sent people fleeing on roads ringed with towering flames.

While in Oregon, a firefighting aircraft crashed Friday, killing the pilot.

As Bianca Facchinei reports, a human-caused inferno in California has erupted, becoming one of the largest in the state's history.

Tax the rich and employee plenty conservation workers to prevent this getting worse every year. Improve watershed hydrology, increase carbon sequestration and manage dry fuel accumulating through careful mulching/removal for horticultural use and additional "small" controlled burns.
