How did we get here?
After a year of full time travel living the van life, we had to adapt when the world changed. To keep busy we’ve converted our tiny house on wheels into a fully functioning off grid home that has everything we need. Realizing that none of us know how long this new normal will stick around, we made the decision that building a home here was the best decision we could make. We've spent the last year doing EVERYTHING involved with coordinating and planning the build ourselves as well as setting up this off grid property to be able to provide us with the the food we'll need in the future. That led us to needing a place to live while we realized our dream of building a shipping container home. After lots of searching we finally discovered Geodesic Dome's and it was the perfect fit for us while we took our time with the container home.

It’s been a really weird few months dealing with this, especially not feeling like I could talk about it until I had more answers. It feels a lot better having it off my chest but let me tell you, the waiting game has been the most difficult part. We’re hoping we’ll have answers later this week but as we said in the video, we probably won’t be back with a new one next Sunday. The good news is Todd has been finding creative ways to keep my mind from spiralling...already excited to share all the beautiful things we're growing in the garden. We'll see you soon xoxo

My husband and i are both in the medical field (he's a surgeon, I'm in administration) and we are both SO grateful to you for posting this; you really have no idea how much impact your story has and how many it can help. We are keeping you both in our hearts and minds and spirits, hoping that you both have the space you need to deal with whatever comes of this. We love that you're taking it seriously. It will more than likely be just fine, but I think you're as concerned as you need to be. Sending both of you all the love in the world. Hugs and light from us both. Love you guys! Chris and Eduardo
  • My mother passed away from colon cancer at age 28 when I was 2 years old. I'm now 65 and started having colon cancer screenings at age 30 every five years due to high risk. It wasn't until ten years ago that only two polyps were found, and those were benign. Back in the day they didn't have the knowledge or tools to effectively detect or treat the disease. Things are much better now and you are smart to take the steps you are taking. Wishing you both and your fur kids the best! Love your videos!
  • As one who has been in medicine for 55 years here in the US I am appalled at the medical foot dragging you have described ! Unreal ! Your surgeon should have given you a report as soon as you woke up from the procedure! Now if there was a biopsy done that could take a day or three for results! NOT WEEKS! Owing to your family history the standard of practice is that you should have a colonoscopy every 5 years! I pray you get good news! Best always to Tyler and Todd !
  • You can’t imagine how many lives you have saved by telling your story. You are very brave and you can beat this, Tyler! 👍🏼♥️🇨🇦

As a nurse I always told young men "don't be embarrassed to death" and explain how important this is. Thank you for sharing your story and I pray that this message is heard by the person who needs it. I am sending positive thoughts virtual hugs for both of you. Blessings
  • The MOST IMPORTANT video you could ever post. You’ve saved lives today. Thank you for being so vulnerable during such a stressful event. We love you both to the moon and back. You’re in our prayers. 🙏❤

I am a colon cancer survivor, diagnosed at 38. I had blood in my stool for 2 months before I got a colonoscopy. Fortunately I am ok now but I also lived through the fear you’re experiencing. Glad you pushed through to get a colonoscopy and I am so glad you have the courage to share it with others. Hoping that it comes back clean. But if it doesn’t, you will probably be ok too. Cancer is terrifying but a lot of people go through it and get through it successfully.

Seeing you two support eachother is heartwarming, I'm reminded that, "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage."
  • Don't ever apologize for your feelings. Cry if you need, laugh, get angry. It's your feelings Tyler! We'll all be here with you every step of the way. Love you guys! Take all the time that you need! We will be here 😘.
  • I was diagnosed with stage I rectal cancer at 39, (just surgery needed), and again at 57 with stage III colon cancer (surgery and 6 months of chemo). Today I am still cancer free. Thank you for sharing your personal story. By doing so will bring awareness to others that it is necessary to know your family history and listen to your body. Sending prayers and positive energy to you!!

Been there done that. But had a gastroscopy at the same time. One after the other. So I felt your nervousness and anxiety. I'm still waiting for results. I hope you have a good outcome. I was given a preliminary report before I left the hospital and now have photos of my gut, top and bottom. I was told everything looked good no polyps. You are doing everyone a favour demysterfing this procedure and it may help others to not put off getting a check up.Thank you.

I didn't realize how invested I am in both of you. When the two of you were in the hammock, talking, I was overcome with emotion. I don't cry easily but seeing the unconditional love you have for each other in the midst of your cancer scare, I became a hot mess. My prayers and thoughts are with you both.
  • My mother had stage 4 colorectal cancer - TWICE and survived. Getting screened saved her life. How brave are you for sharing this journey. Now someone else close to me is getting screened soon too so let's all collectively cross fingers for all of you getting good results xxxxx
  • @skammer2007
Hiya Boys.......always enjoy the video........a colonoscopy is NO FUN.....the procedure is a breeze.....it's the night before that is the nightmare....glad all worked out well. Hugs

Tyler, you may never know who you are helping. I was told to get a colonoscopy years ago, due to gastric pain. I was scared and just…didn’t. Last year, a friend of mine shared about hers on Facebook and invited anyone with questions to reach out to her. I did, and she walked me through the process and even checked on me several times to make sure I went. Fast-forward several months…the procedure was painless, and most importantly, we found out what was wrong with me and treated it. I’m so grateful to my friend for speaking up about the importance of this procedure – and I’m proud of you, too. Praying that you get answers and the right treatment ASAP, dear.
  • I'm a retire nurse, and I thank you for sharing this. It's important for men and women to get yearly health screens done. So many health issues can be treated with early detection. I am glad you chose to share and that you feel some relief by doing so. ✌🏾 &🙏🏿 .
  • Do whatever you have to do to get you through this Tyler - not only do you have the support of a loving and caring husband in Todd but your viewers also have your back 👍
