I would've mixed the apples with half the brown sugar butter mixture and poured the other half over the crust
  • Just made it and it turned out heavenly... This is the best recipe I have ever encountered and I think I'll never make any other anymore... I just made a slight change and that I added a half tsp of cinnamon to the mixture... You might wanna try this little twist... Thank you for posting it.

I made this on Saturday and have another 2 currently in the oven. I altered the recipe a little and I'm glad I did. I generously added cinnamon powder to the apples after I sliced them. I added the sugar mixture directly to the sliced apples and poured the mixture in pre-bought pie tins. I also covered the pies in store bought pie crusts. I cut off the extra edges from the pie crusts and then I cut them up into small pieces and added them to the apples/sugar pie filling. Topped them off with the whole remaining pie crust and made a one egg/milk wash and brushed it on top. Finally I added cinnamon and sugar mixture and baked it. It was DELICIOUS!

Hello. The recipe needs a double 9-inch pie crust. You can purchase it from the store if you wish, or make it by hand. We have quite a few pie crust recipes on our site. Enjoy!

Today I am making this pie for the second time. We all loved it so much the first time that it well deserved to be on my desert table again. Thanks for this wonderful recipe and for sharing so many others with us.
