Peter Obi, Alex Otti Differ On Planned Protest Against Hardship

The 2023 Labour Party, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti have expressed divergent opinions about the planned nationwide protest scheduled for August 1 to 10, 2024 across the country.

Speaking with Channels Television during a courtesy visit at Dr. Alex Otti's country home in Nvosi, Isialangwa South Local Government Area, Peter Obi said the hunger protest was a constitutional right of the citizens, saying the sponsors of the protest is hunger, hopelessness among the youths. While urging those in authority to engage and give a listing listening ear to the protesters, Obi pleaded with the protesters and security agencies to ensure they operate in a civil manner and within the ambit of the law.

    Omo..this is sad. I left Nigeria 23 years ago because i thought it was hard back then.....little did i know it was only going to get worse. People are protesting because of hardship? Dang......our leaders with their nice cars and yeye talk have failed us all. The future does not look good oohhh my people.

    No law required approval from security agencies please. Peaceful protest is a right which doesn't require any approval.
