I love watching the hulas & I only wish I knew more aboyut the stories they are telling, the hand gestures, & what they mean. I am so glad that Hawai'ians were so strong & rescued their culture from the European invasions & missionaries intent on "reforming" them. What an amazing triumph!

I found a local halaū and I feel closer to my Hawaiian heritage than ever before. I live in Maryland and it means so much to me.
  • It's impressive to see their visible physical strength paired with such graceful coordination.
  • I hope they continue to train the younger generation to Sing like this so they don't fade into the generation.
  • How can you not appreciate this? As a foreigner (not from the US either) the language itself sounds so beautiful. Not only do you get an amazing story telling through their fluid but strong movements, you can really see why warriors would have been chosen through this. I dont want to assume to know anything that i dont, that would be plain disrespectful, but i just want to say i appreciate and respect the beauty, strength, heritage and more, which is blantant in these performances. It makes you wonder how it was back before.

Ke Kai o Kahiki is the best of the best in the Hawaiian dance and chants. Aloha Nui!🌺
  • I'm a hula dancer. I'm from Japan and I felt so amazing and unique! I love this so much! sry for poor English😂
Grazie mille Andrea.

Strength, grace, balance, hand gestures, equilibrium and music in a language that is part of thousands of years of heritage. Like all other languages and cultural practices in danger of disappearing because of the incursion of English, let's protect and promote this. Thank you!
  • I'm calling bullshit on western portrait of masculinity... these men look equally strong and gracefull, with precise yet fluid movements. I feel a way more organic and balanced expression of "being a man" through this dance and singing
  • @Smoug
    they are all so beautiful
  • a lot of people don’t realize how hard it is to cultural dance. it takes physical strength, alottttt
  • Strength, fluidity combined. Gorgeous men! Love the sound of their language!
