It really really sucks that you have to walk on eggshells about just doing your job. As an autistic person, I am forever locked out of working in corporate jobs because of how upper management expects a workforce that is able to kiss it's ass at all times.

I feel a less confrontational version of the first one would be "I am copying in my manager X who will be able to highlight any collaboration opportunities between our teams."

Lol...I plainly say, "You're not my supervisor." And if I'm really annoyed with that person, I go into greater detail. "You're not my Lead. You're not my Supervisor. You're not my Manager. You're not my Director." I've only ever had to say this once and I have been working there for over 12 years. With some people you need to be completely blunt with them so they'll leave you the hell alone.

I tell it like it is - never going out of my way to be rude, but also not sugarcoating - and it's polarizing. A lot of people find it refreshing, whereas others have tried to tone police me.
