For me the biggest thing about his trailer is the possibility that the song used in the reveal trailer will actually be used in game. It has such a brilliant haunting feeling I can’t wait to hear a full version

The way Nintendo just shadow drops this and resparked passion and excitement in the Splatoon community is crazy, so excited to play!

My story theory is that Marina, after the events of Team Chaos's victory, used her computer savvy skills to code a perfect replica of Inkopolis Square. She wanted to preserve eveything she loved about her life: the tower, her and Pearl being at the top of their music career, her friendship with Agent 8, and so on. She knew everything was about to change, so she wanted a familiar place to return to, a time where everything in her life was perfect. However, an unknown third party (secret antagonist) corrupted the files for their own, unknown purposes, resulting in the decrepit state of the tower now, the bleached coral, the squalid color palette, and the ominous skeleton enemies. Marina herself became trapped in her own creation by the mysterious force. When Pearl noticed Marina's absence, she dived in to find her. EDIT: Wow guys, 1K! Thanks for all the kind comments. I think it's interesting how they specifically chose a song in which only Marina sings (at first) before Matrix transitioning into the square, almost as if she made the Inkopolis Square recreation

That 2.22 release date is a really cool way to pay hommage to Splatoon 2, that's neat! Just like Splatoon 3 is all about the number 3!

I love how whenever theres been new splatoon characters we always put our marine creature thinking caps on. Splatoon makes great use of real life sea creatures every time. The new character is definitely a mantis shrimp.

It's a small detail but if you look in the back during the Train ride you can see that the city is all advanced and shiny. I hope this dlc turns out to be what would've happend if marina won the final splatfest.

In the splash art, there are 7 shadowy figures up there. Im honestly hoping for a group of baddies, whether they be minor or major.

Splatoon always gave me really good indie game vibes even when it is clearly a AAA game, specially this new DLC

It’s got the triangle ears and the haircut omg omg omg Also I’d like to add that it looks like the train is moving away from splatsvile so my theory is that when the dlc comes out at the train station you have the option to pick “start dlc” or something and it’ll start with that cutscene and then it’ll start with you being agent 8 again instead of neo agent 3

Was not expecting the release date to be that soon. Glad they didn't give away too much for this DLC kinda like how they did OE. February gonna be a good time to play through this!! 🔥
