recommended books
Over the years I have spent hundreds on books about art and illustration, and yet I have reduced them down to essentials for the beginning and advanced illustrator.
Each one covers and essential to being able to illustrate books. If you are asking for presents for anything, this is a great wish list.
I also suggest where possible not buying the digital version, rather get the print versions of these books.

other digital stuff
iPad pro is the 12.9" version
And I also used the iPad pencil
Procreate

The pencil seems like a crazy price for what is just a white stick, but it's not. It's actually got a built-in computer in it, hence the price. So you won't want to be losing it.
The brushes are ones that I created from my own captured pencil strokes. These brushes are built around a simple cross-hatching design, that automatically and randomly overlaps.
The colours I use are from the Faber-Castell series of colours. I went on their website and downloaded the colour swatch file. However, I do own the colours.

This I think is really important because I spent many hours using the colours that I had in my "tin of 60"
