In this video I'll show you how to make a homemade table saw using a circular saw.
For various woodworking projects I found that circular saw isn't enough for me. And for more precise cuts I need a table saw. Instead of buying one, I made it by using circular saw.
Try to made it simple and cheap as possible. This table saw cost me only few $ - and that was for screws and zip ties.

This build failed to mention how dangerous this setup is without a riving knife attached . While making a cut yesterday , the piece of timber jammed up on the saw blade and was launched into the wall at crazy speeds . Riving knives have been mandatory on all table saws since mid 2000s for this exact reason . Without it , it’s not a matter of IF but WHEN an accident is going to occur .
  • I can't believe how talented Stephen Hawking is.
  • I made one just like yours!!! Thank you for your advise, so simple and so easy to do, I'm an amateur woodworker, I just started, your advise and examples have been very helpful

You make it look so simple and your attention to detail and keeping it basic makes me wanna make one this weekend. Thanks

Thank you so much for the inspiration. I've wanted a table saw for a while and I had all the materials you used with your build, so I built one very similar. The saw I used literally cost me 20 dollars 20 years ago. It's been on a shelf collecting dust not being used. My first cut was perfect on the angle, but the cut was not perfectly straight even though everything is square. I attribute this to the cheapness of my saw. I might have to make a slight adjustment to the fence I use to compensate for not cutting straight. All and all I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Fantastic straight to the point no time wasting. EXCELLENT.Keep them vids coming.
  • Incredible. I needed a table saw for small hobbies but this works great and I can save the money for wood. I have some additional ideas to make this better. Thank you.
  • this is so awesome. I've needed a table saw forever now, and it occurred to me today that I could probably make one, but really didn't think it would be this simple. thanks a lot for this post. :-)

This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. youtube.com/post/UgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG… Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.
  • How can someone dislike this? Excellent. Easiest circular saw - table saw conversion I’ve seen so far!
  • Thanks for this. Just built it today after watching your video in the morning. What a fantastic jig for a circular saw. I'm ready to make stuff...
  • I have an old 9 1/4” circular saw that is just too heavy to use for any length of time and I don’t have a table saw! Problem solved and thank you so much! Build starts tomorrow!
  • perfect. Clear instructions and thanks for showing me the preferred screws to anchor the saw as well You thought of everything.
  • I literally was contemplating doing this. The table saw I want to buy has sold out after fathers day, and no where us restocking it, which is crazy. So I said...forget that, ill just make a table saw out of my circular saw. Then I was thinking what the best way to make a 'table' would be, and how to depress trigger the best way etc. This is straight forward. To the point, well done, just perfect.!
  • This is the simplest one I have seen. I am a few months into joinery so this is my skill level. Thank you.
  • That was the first table saw I owned back in the late 70s. I made it myself. I cut some angle iron from an old bed frame, and had them welded together for the stand, then I screwed the wooden top onto it. I still have one today along with the one that I bought from the store, in my workshop
  • @chezzapie
Brilliant. I was making this whole conversion far too complicated and you just made my life a whole lot easier. Thank you!
  • I've watched many videos but your's is simple to follow

I came here to watch a video to learn how to mount a circular saw to a table and get ideas on how to make it portable. However, I can't help but marvel at the level to which technology has advanced. Text to speech has come a long way even though it still has ways to go. Its still come far enough to where people from other parts of the world can share ingenious ideas like this, and also garbage unfortunately, with the world even if they may not speak English well and/or may have a thick accent difficult to understand. They may not speak English at all but can now translate written text since Google translate has also come a long way. Amazing.
