This video is about the WGU Computer Science Bachelors Degree.

Computer science is one of the best majors (if not the best) that you can take if you want to set yourself up for success. But in order to get a computer science degree, you have to go to college... And college is very expensive and time consuming... Until now

Western Governors University offers a CS degree that you can easily get in less than 2 years (and in many cases much less than this). This is something that in many cases I have recommended to my consulting clients and those who have bought my paid products, but for the first time I'm starting to talk about it on this channel because it has gotten such amazing results that I really want to share it with the world and help as many people as possible.

These methods involve using study.com, straighterline.com, or sophia.org in order to test out of classes or take college credits externally (much faster and at a better price) before you start at WGU. Study.com, straighterline, and sophia are all good, but study.com in my (and others that have extensive experience degree hacking) opinion is the best. It has the most options, the best and fastest classes, and the least friction to transfer credits in.

Getting a WGU Computer Science accelerated degree is very easily done in less than 2 years of overall work, and in extreme cases it can be done in less than 6 months. And a WGU Computer Science degree is a respected degree, people who get it have amazing things to say about it and typically get job placement very quickly. My friend Josh Madakor for instance immediately got an offer from a FAANG company after getting his CS degree in 2 months.

Enjoy :)

  • WGU is great for people who want a 100% online Comp sci bachelors degree (very few universities are 100% online) and also for people who want to work at their own pace. 6 months is EXTREMELY aggressive. As Shane mentioned, you're going to have to pregame. A lot. If you're starting from scratch, it's going to take years. I cannot recommend community college enough, get all of your gen ed out of the way through comm colleges, and most offer the gen ed courses online. ALSO, computer science degree != programming efficacy. It takes many, many, many months to become a good programmer, in most cases it takes years. No matter the route you take, IT'S SO WORTH IT in the end. Happy coding.
  • Shane you’ve saved so many people so much time and money. Thank you for what you do! Especially with this spreadsheet. Can only imagine how many hours it took to make that

Omg YouTube pruned my comment. I was just saying CS degree and getting into dev was the best choice I ever made in my career. More cushy, more comfy, more coins. Kinda steep learning curve, but totally worth it. And thanks Shane for featuring me ^^

I love this man! You're literally insane... and you share all of this information for free!

Just a heads up for those interested, WGU uses a pass/fail system meaning that they do not calculate your GPA(your GPA will always be 3.0), this could be a turn off for those interested in pursuing a M.S. in a competitive Uni, but if you don't mind I'd say go for it.
  • @Abdullah-ty
Ohh woow that’s amazing, I really appreciate that man, god bless you
  • This is an EXCELLENT video 👍 Our Son just graduated High School and has a strong passion to Teach. Understanding that his salary would be low in comparison to the debt of a Secondary Education Bachelor Degree he found WGU. Now he's looking at getting his degree for 20k for a job he is passionate about. Thank you for highlighting the benefits of WGU!

WGU is a fantastic school! Currently enrolled and about to graduate with a BS in Information Technology Management. The school is legit and the coursework is the same as any university. They are regionally accredited and 100% legit. As someone who thought the opportunity cost of college was not worth it, WGU is a life saver.
  • @dioscoros
I'm in Comp Sci at WGU, started 6/1 with 15% done from my old university. Today I am 32% done, as I completed 21 credits, 8 of which are Discreet Math 1 and 2. The latter class is the hardest in the degree allegedly. You guys got this!

Hey Shane. A very interesting idea you've presented in this video. I'm currently about to start my second year of community college, and I plan to transfer somewhere (not 100% sure yet) to get a CS degree. Needless to say, your videos have given me a lot of confidence about my major choice😁 I've recently started looking at online colleges since they tend to be cheaper than other colleges (no room & board) and I will definitely be looking into WGU.
  • @astrixkz

  • @pilotaskar

  • @geevee9582
