The Bangladesh Supreme Court has scrapped most quotas on government jobs, sparking violent student-led protests that have claimed at least 114 lives. The court's ruling now allocates 93% of government jobs on a merit-based system, leaving 7% for relatives of 1971 war veterans and other categories, overturning the previous 30% quota. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government had previously abolished the quota in 2018, but a lower court reinstated it last month, triggering nationwide unrest. As turmoil continues, the Indian High Commission in Dhaka is facilitating the safe passage of Indian students out of Bangladesh. Watch for more updates on the ongoing crisis and government response.

Students are being killed by an worst Autocrat in History... Quota System now Reformed but the Court keep a clever tricks in the law that is Government can change this any time. It disappointed them once again.
  • The court made no ruling. The court only gave directions. The court has clearly said that this is a government matter, the court cannot interfere here. The students also asked the government for reforms but the government then showed the court to the students. Why? To kill the students? The Supreme Court also did not want to take any responsibility on the quota issue. Today, the court has only given a roadmap on how quotas can be structured. But the government can do more or less if it wants. The essence of today's verdict is: If the government wants to keep 7% quota or if the government wants to increase the quota of freedom fighters to 50% or more up to 99%. The whole matter is in the hands of the government. The court has nothing. Today the government talks about 7%, after 6 months and 1 year if it wants it can do 99%. Talents are not free from this hyena.

🇧🇩 As a common Bangladeshi person I want to tell you something... Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a bad person. He makes it his profession to attack helpless people, 'blackmail' and shoot people. So a country can never run like this. Therefore, I demand Sheikh Hasina's resignation as soon as possible to protect the country and the people of the country. Please come forward to protect the common man, thanks. 🇧🇩
