Prior to friend zoning Kai Cenat not only did Tyla ink a record deal with Epic Records despite only having 1 song released, but now thanks to her viral hit "Water" plus remixes from Travis Scott and Marshmello, Tyla is one of the most buzzed about new artists in 2024. However as with anybody that blows up seemingly out of nowhere Tyla's come up has raised red flags among fans... many quick to label her an industry plant. In this video we reveal the truth behind Tyla's suspicious rise to fame.

A grammy after 3 singles is wild. I get thatt she's talented but come on, there's alot of talented african artists who have been grinding way longer than her that dont have all of this. Tyla is an industry plant, argue with your dog.

If she wasn’t so pretty no one would even know her name. Music industry has seen how marketable her looks are, and blown her up
  • @latto_SSM
Idk but getting a Grammy while she is new is still suspicious to me till this day
  • rihanna had like three album out before she got a grammy, Tyla put out one song and received a grammy... its weird.

from South Africa here, Tyla didn't grow organically, she has a big machine behind her, she was just a girl who made TikToks then all of a sudden she comes out with a High Budget MV and a song (Getting Late) and she already has a team (bare in mind she was still a new fresh upcoming artist). By this time she is already doing TV appearances in SA, performances in Africa and shoots. Thats very rare for an upcoming artist who is pushing their craft on their own and grinding, after only 2/3 singles she is now an International Pop Star, make it make sense, she got the push from someone powerful with connects and her success was not organic at all...South Africans only know Tyla now because of Water but they can't recall her career/music growth in SA because there was none...Girl went straight from an upcoming artist in SA to a Grammy winner in such a small space of time...she is a Plant, Tyla is a manufactured artist, she didn't hustle nor put her sweat; blood & tears into her career, it was literally handed to her.

After hearing that she dated the producer and getting free studio time every week, and the promotions that came after, I understood everything that I needed to know.

It's basically become standard practice. What took, Beyonce, Whitney, Eminem, Jay-Z, etc. decades to be global sensations, take some artists less than a few months. Even the Organic route is manufactured. It's basically called skipping the line. They just pick someone like a product out of a freezer and say we can sell this.
  • I hope she’s read her contracts, something just seems off. She is extremely talented but we know how the industry stays
  • So she knew this man before she was a senior in h.s???👀👀somethings not right there.
  • All i will say, is just like taylor swift, i have NEVER looked up either of these artists, yet they pop up everywhere all over my social medias, every day. That's what makes it weird
  • The fact that she featured Travis is proof enough for me..

it is actually crazy for me to believe that shes not an industry plant. she is beautiful and talented, but she is just beginning into the whole “hollywood” thing. ik she has been singing for a while; but getting a grammy very quickly after a song went viral on tiktok is actually crazy for me. i mean, congrats to her but for many artists it takes a while to get into the mainstream
  • Do a video about "Why beauty privilege important in the music industry" because tbh I've never seen any ugly female artist.😂😢
  • Truth be told that Grammy actually belonged to Afrobeat African Artist Ayra Starr for "Rush. But I get the West's obsession with a more esthetically mulatto look. Ayra Starr is the true star, she has worked her way to the top when it comes to music and artistry

With Tyla, it’s a mix of labels really wanting to tap into the burgeoning global music market in Africa and good ol pretty privilege (I do think she’s def talented but let’s not ignore the elephant in the room, at least half of her marketability for brands and international audiences is her being breathtakingly gorgeous). Her songs are a nice blend of amapiano, afrobeats but with enough pop and R&B elements that make it digestible for western markets (mostly America). Her accent is also very minimal in her singing and music too, at least compared to when she’s speaking - probably by design. She’s got all the ingredients for global stardom as far as labels are concerned but we’ll see, time will indeed tell.

Wtf was Lisa from BLACKPINK doing in the studio with Tyla who was no name at that time and recorded her future hit -water. And you still think that music industry and streams are not being pushed by labels and big figures? yes, the talent is the talent, but without labels she would be still no one like us.. she`s a plant y`all..👀

One thing I dislike about American media as a South African is that it can be very toxic, especially for young ladies... Even though I'm happy for her, but at the same time, I'm worried about her and wish she never did got exposed to American media like that.
  • The saddest thing is that the Grammy awards are not been honest anymore people who didn't struggle, or their music are low budget and meaningless carries Grammy award, but the one that works and create a hit song are look down on and have not support why??😢
  • @fitbeaut609
girl is so unprofessional she just cancelled and delayed her tour last min till today there’s no talk about the delayed tickets and the people haven’t gotten there money back and everyone keeps ignoring
  • @tym9080
She gained popularity in the US and other non-African countries through manufactured means, while Tyla may have found success in South Africa. However, there seems to be a noticeable agenda to replace ‘certain’ non-American artists.
