Apple's most exciting iPhone might not be the new iPhone 16 or the iPhone 16 Pro, but rather the iPhone SE which is leaked to finally bring a modern design with a 6.1 inch OLED display, face id, usb-c, a 48 megapixel camera, and the rumored A18 chip which would make it the cheapest phone to run Apple intelligence at a $499 price point.

There is no way Apple can pack all those features into a device priced at $499-$549. (IF) it has all those features, it will be priced at $599

It's a bold move if the SE looks the same as the iPhone 13/14. I think they should stick to the SE being smaller and just give us the iphone 13 mini body. Also some of us still want a one-handed phone.

I don’t think it’ll get A18 chip. Don’t forget iPhone 14 and 15 will remain in the line-up. AI in the SE could drain sales from 14/15

I just got the iPhone 15 base model, will serve me well for another 3 years at least. My iPhone 8 lasted 6 years.

what is the point of this phone, it is the same as base iPhone 16. I would like refreshed iPhone 13 mini at some point. But it is early, it is still a beast and size is passable, could be little bit smaller but ok.

I just ended up getting the iPhone 15 Pro yesterday because I couldn't keep waiting for the new iPhone SE! Also, T-Mobile is having an unusually ironic promotion for anyone who buys the old iPhone SE models right now. Is that just a coincidence for the new SE to come out soon? T-Mobile gave me such a great upgrade deal, and I was upgrading from the Motorola Razr fold from last year. The iPhone 15 Pro includes capabilities to use Apple Intelligence, and I just couldn't pass up the promotion and deal T-Mobile was offering. It was really hard for me to switch to Android. I've been an iPhone user my entire life, and it made a mess of things when trying to FaceTime and text people since all my friends and family have iPhones. So, I don't know if I pulled the trigger too fast on getting the iPhone 15 Pro instead of waiting a little bit longer for the new SE, but we will see!

Ugh. Now I need to figure out if I want to hold off on upgrading my XR this year finally. Was going to go for a 16 pro this fall, now I’m not so sure.
