how do i get a straight cut easy ? Well this is just a quick and simple video showing you just that so watch and see how i do it using a DeWALT saw.

Getting a straight cut using a circular saw can be a bit tricky, however this is a brilliant, effective, inexpensive and easy method to get a straight cut. To achieve a good finish on a job it is helpful to have nice good cuts, and a circular saw if used correctly is a good tool for such a job. this method is particularly good to get straight cuts on long lengths of wood without using a tracksaw.

90% of the time this is how I get a straight cut using a skill saw. you dont have to use a level as the straight edge i will often use a bit of wood or a long metal profile as long as it is very straight, once the straight edge is clamped to the bit you want to cut, and the the circular saw is being held against the straight edge while cutting along then the cut will be the same as the straight edge and thus left with a straight cut. it is also a handy method when you want a straight cut in the middle of a sheet of wood where a circular saw guide wouldn't work and also when you want to cut something off one end of the sheet of wood to nothing on the other end of the sheet of wood (for example when you are fitting against something that is not square) you can fix the straight edge at that angle to achieve this type of cut.

Use this method over using a guide bar 99/100 times. Also clamp the straight edge on the good side of the timber so if you stray of the straight edge you only cut into the waste part of the material

Hi very nice. Did you put the piece against a level after you made your cut ? I put my Dewalt circular saw against a level and I cut a 4 foot plywood , after I make the cut I put my piece against a level and I see a gap in the middle. Blade is perpendicular to the plate of my saw and also my plate is very clean. What could be the problem?
