i have finally got my hands on a 18v Track/Rail Saw for so long I've been dependent on mains power on site due to my DeWalt rail saw and as i refused to pay so much for the Flex powered Rail saw but now it has arrived this is a big moment for me it will change the working day, lets just hope it can live up to it.
come have a look see what you think

Really appreciate the comprehensive review. I am now going to purchase the DCS572 based on your feedback. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming!
  • Will be great an test / comparing test between 572 ( 18v) 576 ( 54v) and 579 ( new 54v)

Very impressed with that. Likewise I have the plunge saw, but it's corded. This would be much cheaper than buying the cordless plunge saw
  • @mrdeer5585
Would it work with makita or festool rail like their dedicated dewalt plunge saw?
  • @BladeAndrade
Can you post the part number for the track/rail saw? I can't find it online. Thanks
  • As always David another great video. The much lower price is good here and for site work excellent but how does it do with saw dust. I have the festool 55 it's an amazing saw but scary price. I have all festool rails David so for me to change over would in the end be more costly but this idea of a dewalt battery saw is clever.

Just a shame its not got a similar depth guage like the Festool. We use our track saw for re-lining sliding sash window reveals on site and its brilliant but the power cord is a P.I.T.A. Thanks for the review and I will be interested to hear your thoughts after using the tool on site.

A related question: I have the DeWalt DWE576K which looks like the corded version of this DCS572, with the same track as in your video. I have tuned the saw to the track for 90 degree cuts. Now I wanted to use the other side of the track for 45 degree cuts and went about tuning this. However when riding the track with the correct machine slot in 45 degree position, the saw blade is still several milimeters out from touching the splinter guard. Using the slot intended for 90 degree cuts would result in the saw biting into the track. I'm confused, the manual says it should be possible to tune the track for 45 degrees, but in practice this does not seem possible. If you (or anyone) know(s) how to go about solving this I'd much appreciate the help. Maybe you could demonstrate on the setup in above video? Kind regards, Eric
  • I bought the DCS572 but i'm struggling to get a firm answer from online sellers as to which Dewalt 1m and 1.5m track model number is compatible with the 572.....any suggestions would be appreciated.
  • @WackyMarek
Hello David, could you use that guard rail with the circular saw DSC391N??
  • @JStewTV
Do you know if there is a US market equivalent?
  • @Schizophonic12
Can I ask what track saw rail is that? Can you provide a model number please?
  • @user-oi7xn4ft3k
This DEWALT Dcs572 compatible with festool rail tracks please?
  • @kevocos
Nice bit of kit! Do you know if it will fit the Festool rails?
