Dogs are so amazing, they give us their all, and all for so little in return. The unconditional love, trust, affection, loyalty, prote tion and all the laughter they give us. We lose them so soon, their lives are so short, seems like it's over before we've really begun. I always think that this this is the price we pay for all they give us... ❤❤❤❤

As a man that ended up on the streets after an accident with my dog. I went through hell to keep my dog. A dog having one owner his/her whole life is extremely important. Getting a dog should have an unbreakable commitment. The best thing about a dog is loyalty and that's what I give all my animals. Till death do us part. Bitter sweet endings.
  • I love it how easy is everything with treats and positive reinforcement :DD My dog only stays and sits when we practice and there's treats. Any other time, she doesn't care about anything :D
  • When I give my dog a hug while he’s sitting up, he lifts his paw on my shoulder to hug back. He started doing that on his own and it’s the cutest thing ever!

My dog actually does understand "complex" phrases. If I tell him "bed" he does nothing. If I tell him "sleep" he does nothing, but when I say, "go to bed" or "go to sleep", he gets up and goes to the bedroom and lays on his bed in the closet.

"Dogs can't feel guilt" My dog came down one day slouched over with tail between his legs and refused to come over when called and went straight to his bed and curled himself. I even waved his favorite treat at him, and wondered why he didn't come over. Found out he had poo-pooed on the carpet next to the fire place and I hadn't found out until hours later, when I was wondering why he didn't want to come hang out with me next to the fireplace.
  • I think things like kissing a dogs face really does depend on the dog. My dog at times likes face kisses and will shove her face into yours so you can shower her with affection but other times she pulls away. It's so important to get to know the dog first and read their body language. When my dog was a puppy she almost broke my nose on several occasions from shoving her face into mine during snuggle time.

We have a jacket for chilly weather. She is able to take it off when she no longer needs it. She loves it on at night and early mornings. No way would she tolerate me dressed her up, haha.
  • 5:51 I agree not rushing them, but by God when your dog has been spinning in circles for 50 minutes at 2AM you're kinda tired of waiting.

    26. Don't Watch Horror movies, (noise) 25. Don't be a clean freak. They prefer your natural scent 24. A tight leash. A well fitted harness is better 23. Breaking up of a wrestling match. That's not fighting. That's how they play and learn. That's how they learn how to control their bite. Only time to break up is they appear afraid 22. Deserting and isolating your pet. We are the pack leaders If you can't spend enough time with them, they can develop separation anxiety. So if you are working a lot have someone come by and walk them or maybe doggy day care. 21. Tense mood. If we are tense or bored they will be to. 20. Planting a smooch on their snoot. 19 Dressing your dog. Don't buy just because their cute. They have fur to regulate their body temp 18. Phrases keep it simple. 17. Teasing with treats 16. Cleaning them too often 15. Being rushed at potty time 14. Deviating from the schedule 13. Poor Nail Trimmings 12. Badly timed walks 11. Painful to walk 10. Inconsistency 9. Waking from Deep Sleep. 8. Forced Socialization 7. House has scents they hate. 6. Past Trauma 5. Being scolded without understanding why 4. Smoking 3. No Opportunity to Explore 2. Making them apologize They skipped 18 so there is actually 24.
  • Actually some dogs LOVE belly rubs. One of my mom’s best friends has one of the sweetest and friendliest dogs I’ve ever met, Jackson, and he’s such a love bug AND a cuddle bug! At friendly gatherings and parties, he always tries to make sure he’s noticed by as many people as possible. And if he wants a belly rub, he rolls over onto his back and he gives you the “puppy dog eyes” begging look that says “please PLEASE give me a belly rub” and once you do, he follows you everywhere you go. So actually I think dogs not liking belly rubs is actually for just particular dogs, because I’ve been around dogs my entire life and every single one, including the first one I’ve had and the one I have now, all love belly rubs

"you wouldn't want to be dragged around by your neck" don't kink shame me

My girlfriend's dog may be an outlier, but she loves getting cuddled. If you kiss her in her face of her muzzle she won't lean away but turn towards you to lick your face. Something that surprises me is that we can really cuddle her, like fully wrap your arms around and she doesn't show any sign of stress or discomfort. She's been raised with lots of attention since she was a pup, and doesn't really understand 'personal space' though. I don't mind, I love that dog. Also, keep in mind what breed your dog is, different breeds needs different things. Don't dress your husky because it's cold outside, and don't expect shepherds or work breeds to sit in an appartment all day and be content.
  • Having lived with various dogs for decades, I agree with all of this. Excellent list!
  • I love having a fenced in backyard. Take all the time you want Buddy!😂
