This is a cultural heritage business. It should be given breaks so it can continue to serve the community.
  • End of an era, they have the best mochi I've ever had. My late dad and grandma took me and my brothers and sister, and of course used to be good customers. This this also were mom parents their first date. So many good memories and an incredible family, this city is changing beyond recognition and it's starting to get a little terrifying.
  • I can’t imagine how hard it is to pay the rents on these businesses..
  • This business should be granted historical status like Marcus Books. The city needs to support Japan town merchants that have been around as long as this business has.
  • If you crave for authentic mochi, check out Osaka-ya in Sacramento.
  • This news report made me wanna get some Mochi. But this ones closing :(

I really hope someone takes over and keep the tradition alive, perhaps beloved longtime costumers pitch in i don’t know!

So basically they close cause ready to retire or cause space rent skyrocketing to cause any to close now a days.
  • Disgraceful, 'San Francisco' is pricing out SAN FRANCISCO! Yet they see no issues with multi-million dollar renovations on already luxury buildings. Good luck to the new and remaining small businesses e
  • This sucks if they were able to support my living situation I would come there and work for free if it would help them stay open
  • tech started up plus people are not interested in traditional food nowadays maybe I am old school
