I was born in England and came here as a ten pound pomme with my Mum and Dad when I was 5. I am now 70 and have experienced floods, droughts, heat, flies and bushfires. I have seen Australia grow, and have seen her people struggle to eek out a living, while never giving up. I have seen her young men go off to war too many times. But this song to be epitomizes everything that is Australian. I am proud to call myself an Australian.

I came to live in Australia in 2011. And I one thing that I want to say is that I'm grateful to Australia for accepting me. Really great people here. They are the most sincere and open people in the world. Not the most soft-speaking and a bit rough around the edges at times, but definitely genuine, straight and hard working ones, they are. I'm proud to call myself an Aussie.

I have watched videos of Americans reacting to all things Australian. When I watch them react to this unbelievable song, they admit to having a lump in their throat and on the verge of tears. If you are not moved by this song, you are not human.

This should unequivocally be Australia's National Anthem, I saw The Seekers at their final concert and yes unlike John Farnham it really was their final concert and when they played this the audience went absolutely crazy with pride and joy of being proud Australians.
