Old cars are a maintenance nightmare. Even when they have low mileage. Seals go bad and rubber cracks. You’ll be replacing things left and right just because of age.

My work van here in Ontario, Canada (2009, E250, 4.6) has 310,000 km on it and is still running pretty well, PLUS!! I get to learn how to weld replacement body panels on it, win-win I'd say? lol. It's been a good vehicle over the years. no complaints. FJT!!

I totally agree that Mercedes Benz is a money pit, even the simplest thing like a dealer oil change runs $175. Mine has been fairly reliable but other things like a cracked windshield ($1,750), replacing a side view mirror ($1,020) that was broken by a bicycle passing by and a leaky, small plastic windshield washer fluid tank ($260) make ownership very expensive. The ride in a MB however is hard to beat.

I bought an 01 pathfinder for $200 in 2021 and am still driving it. Leaks oil but still running good! Just my runaround truck so my Scion stays nice and tidy in the garage lol.

Interesting Scotty I had 4 Benz’s. All were AMG high performance. Ran each one past 100K with nothing more than normal service other than more frequent oil changes. I’m Not interested in keep a car past 100K and not rich”. An AMG Benz is not transportation. A Toyota is perfect for that. I suggest driving a Japanese sedan on the free zone, no speed limit, of the autobahn then driving a Benz on the free zone. You will see the difference You are wealthy guy Scotty yet you toss around the word wealthy as though it’s a profanity. You sir are what I call a malcontent.
