A young man falling in love with Kate Bush and her music.. there is still hope for humankind. :-)
  • I remember being your age, slightly younger, falling in love with Kate. It never leaves you. She never leaves you.

You don't need to say anything.....your eye brows give you away....they are so expressive! Love it!

Kate is and will always be beautiful, I've listerned to her since I was a child, she a vocal genius a true artist... She's a storyteller.. I love her
  • Imagine growing up in the United States where this was never played and you never got to see anything like video of her. We would listen to her records and go ballistic. We instantly fell in love just because of the voice.

I remember seeing this for the first time back in 1978 and thinking she is the most beautiful woman there has even been and ever will be. LEGEND

I grew up listening to Kate Bush. It was wonderful watching your face light up at her music.

Kate is an artistic genius and icon and remains one of the most influential female musicians of all time. Still revered, respected and highly relevant - her 2014 "Before The Dawn" series of concerts sold out over 100,000 tickets in less than 15 minutes (a record for London's Hammersmith Apollo). Her 22 performances were highly acclaimed (named as "the #1 live music event of the year" by many music publications). Also in 2014, Kate became the first woman to have 8 of her albums in the Top 40 album charts at the same time (and she was third behind only Elvis and the Beatles). Her 3 disc, 4 lp, live album of those performances, was released in 2016 and also ranked in the charts. In September of 2020 Kate was honored as a fellow of the prestigious Ivors Academy for songwriters and composers. Kate fans all over the world are eagerly awaiting and hoping for the release of a new album. In the meantime, it was announced that Big Boi (from the group OutKast who is a huge fan of Kate) has recorded a song with her.

This song was released on Kate's debut album "The Kick Inside" (1978), 3 years after recording the song. I remembered hearing she wrote this song when she was very young, 15? So I checked it - she was 13! She recorded the song in 1975 when she was 16. David Gilmour, (Pink Floyd) paid for the recording.

This is the song that ensorcelled me, Kate performed this on SNL in 1979 and it was spectacular. She was born one month after my other favorite artist Prince and they have a similar trajectory debuting in 1978. Both genius, highly individualistic, theatrical, signed as teenagers, sensual, charismatic, and demanded creative control over their art. Kate & Prince's eyes are so beautiful and expressive, you don't see that anymore.

Thanks for doing Kate reactions friend! She's my favorite artist of all time and it's great fun to watch your younger generations discovering her, look forward to more!

I look at your face watching Kate Bush and see the same reactions that I felt back when I first saw this as a teenager back in 1978.
  • OmG you facial expressions are priceless. And I'm a fully grown man of 65 who first heard this while stationed in the US Army in Germany It turned all us hardcore grunts to jello.
  • @kf9346
She was 19 when she recorded this album. 15, 16, 17 when she wrote the songs that appear on it! First heard this song and album when I was 10... she has been a huge part of my life since then, now in my 50s

Love that you love Kate. She's been my favourite singer/songwriter for 40 odd years now and I never tire of listening to her music. Can still remember clearly the first time I heard 'Wuthering Heights'. I stopped what I was doing and stood transfixed by its beauty and originality. Bought 'The Kick Inside' album the day it was released and never looked back.

I remember my dad had this album and I listened to this on a big pair of 70s headphones. This song blew me away as a child, I still can feel the goosebumps.
