Two Old Tires videos in one week? This is the greatest week ever!

About you struggling in the Porsche turns, you said earlier you were on minimum downforce and that section is a succession of fast corners, literally the reason why downforce exists.

That race with the caddy was very clean!

I can do endurance races, but as soon as they start crossing the 2 hour mark, that's when I start losing patience with them. I think the longest was a 4 hour marathon race in a Gran Turismo game (I think it was 3, but can't remember for sure) and I was basically done with endurance racing at that extreme length of time.

Man,, I love your Forza videos. the commentary is always so engaging and genuinely funny.
  • Great video mate, I very much enjoyed this series as well. Just thought I'd give you a heads up on a couple of things, 1. Hard tyres are pretty awful in this game so staying on them for as little time as possible is best. So in the case of this race the best strategy is 7 laps on hard and then 2 5 lap stints on mediums. There would be more tyre wear by the end of the stint but being on mediums saves so much time over being on hards that it's about a 15s time gain. 2. With the whole aerowash controversy, slipstream went from about 0.9s to now being within 0.6s, and that's a hard limit. There's some sort of area tracked behind every car where slipstream can be felt, and yes specifically behind the car, not the direction as if you drive backwards someone can slipstream in front of you!
  • despite all the setbacks and problems this game launched with its gotten alot better. if you spend the time messing with the tuning settings you can get the cars handling good with all assists off. and the multiplayer is alot of fun when you get clean races.

always get into some awesome battles, that caddy was hunting

Hard, medium, hard is a good setup to run on this track since by the time of your first pit it night time (therefore mediums will last longer under the cool weather) mediums last longer on the second stint
  • the last 1/4 of the track (especially porsche turns) is where i make the time up i lose on straights, usually getting 1.5-2.5 seconds closer to whoever’s in front. i highly recommend stock tune or high downforce on this car. hard tyres i was running 3:34s consistently and on mediums i ran 3:31s consistently.

Always love seeing your uploads and races, man. I had the pleasure of doing most of the track audio for Le Mans in FM. You can’t really hear the birds and all at speed, but I hope the different parts of the track sounding a tad different (especially the grandstands) helped keep you awake!

This race was amazing. Its the one race that, at first it was a pain since i didn't get my setup correctly, but when i got perfectly tuned HOLY. Unfortunately i only had maybe 1 or 2 races where i had someone to compete with and the rest well they didn't stay for the hour so it was only 4 people in the race
